With just one round of top-level Open competition fixtures to be played on this Saturday (10th September) it is worth reviewing where we stand on individual performances in respect of the various top-level Open Competition Cups.
Marchant Cup (Batting in Premier League)
David Delany (Clontarf CC) is in pole position to secure this Award.
Bruton Cup (Batting in the Championship)
The stand-out performer here is Joey Carroll (Leinster CC) with an aggregate of 729 runs at 48.6 per innings.
O’Grady Cup (Bowling in Premier League)
There is still intense competition for this individual trophy with Amish Sidhu (Merrion CC) in a strong position to secure this coveted trophy having amassed 41 wickets at an average of 15.8 per wicket.
Clarke Cup (Bowling in the Championship)
Abdul Sattar (North Kildare CC) is in pole position to secure the Clarke Cup with the best average per wicket of 13.52 (0.79 ahead of Bilal Azhar of Leinster CC).
Hopkins Cup (Wicket-Keeping in Premier League)
With one round of matches to go, Mark Donegan (The Hills CC) has one hand on this trophy with an aggregate of 29 dismissals.
Satchwell Cup (Wicket-Keeping in the Championship)
The stand-out performer for this Award is Cormac Hassett (Cork County CC) with 26 dismissals which is well ahead of any other competing player.
Solomons Cup (for Premier League Fielding)
As it stands, Adam Chester (Phoenix CC) is in pole position for this individual trophy (3 catches ahead of his club colleague, William Bennett).
Vincent Cup (for Fielding in the Championship)
The leader-board for this individual award shows the Terenure CC Captain (Donal Lynch) in pole position with 11 catches and then 3 other players in a tie for second place.
Samuels Cup (Premier League All-Rounder)
David Delany (Clontarf CC) and Dylan Blignaut (The Hills CC) are almost in a tie for this trophy with just 3 points separating them going into the final round of fixtures.
Championship All-Rounder
Two Leinster CC players are in the top 2 positions for this individual award – Bilal Azhar and Joey Carroll with Joey featuring most strongly with bat in hand whilst Bilal has amassed 36 wickets in addition to over 400 runs.
Overall Bilal Azhar is best placed to secure the award as he is 107 points ahead of Joey Carroll going into the final round of matches.
