Ireland have this morning beaten the Netherlands by four wickets (and with 18 overs to spare) to retain their ODI status. Althought there will be huge disappointment in not qualifying for the World Cup, the team, which is currently comprised entirely of players from the LCU, achieved their secondary objective of finishing sixth in the tournament.
