A new Sports Capital round is expected to open in October. Many clubs have started preparations for applications for this new round. In preparation of this, Cricket Leinster are delighted to announce a Sports Capital Masterclass for clubs, which will once again be delivered by 2into3, experts on the programme.
Date: Wednesday 25th September 2019
Tea/Coffee Meet & Greet: 6.30pm – 7.00pm
Masterclass: 7.00pm-9.00pm
Venue: Talbot Hotel, Stillorgan (off N11)
There have been some changes to the programme which may have gone unnoticed to clubs. Firstly, in the recent allocation for equipment-only grants, the bottom 25% of valid applications did not receive funding. This was based on a scoring system which the Department of Transport, Tourism & Sport use to grade all applications.
The scoring systems itself is more technical than previous years. Clubs now need to seize the initiative and ensure that their application is in the top 75%. This requires strategic planning, know-how and determination. Our Masterclass aims to jumpstart all our clubs on this process.
To date, 2into3 have secured €834,800 in Sports Capital funding for clubs.
This is your opportunity to gain valuable insight from experts on a programme that is expected to receive over 2,500 applications this year. The session is free to attend.
We will be asking clubs to provide some information before the session, which will be confidentially handled by 2into3’s Darren McMahon.
Due to demand, we can only allow for a limited number of spaces. Please confirm your place by e-mailing me (philip.smith@cricketleinster.ie) before Friday 13th September.
Also just fyi - the current grants should be announced on or before September - with limited activity expected to be announced until the Dail reconvenes after the summer recess.
From what we can ascertain, the timeline looks broadly like this – announce remaining 2018 sports capital - Open 2019 sports capital round – announce first patch of large scale infrastructure fund projects (all of this to be done before Christmas).
