Last weekend saw two more players reach targets that were pending for them at the beginning of the season.
DI Joyce (Merrion) Dom became the third player this season to reach the major target of 5,000 runs in League and Cup when his 97 against YMCA saw him follow Trent Johnston and Reinhard Strydom in getting to this figure. This makes him the 66th player to reach that target with an average of at least 22. He is also the first of the Joyce brothers to reach this figure. Dom made his debut for Merrion in 1996 and his match against YM was his 220th in all in League and Cup and he has 211 innings with 19 not out. Of those 220 matches 189 were for Merrion and the remaining 31 for Dublin University. His highest score is 197. He has 5 centuries and 23 fifties. As of now he has 5,027 runs at an average of 26.18. In addition he has taken over 100 wickets.
Rod Hokin (Clontarf) Rod celebrated his fifth season with Clontarf by reaching 3,000 runs exactly against The Hills. This was his 77th match since his debut in 2007. He has played 76 innings of which 14 were not out. He also has scored 5 centuries and to those has added 21 fifties. He has scored his 3,000 runs at an average of 48.38. His highest score was 126*. Over his 5 years here he has shown a particular love for the Cup with many great performances in that.
