ED JOYCE has been withdrawn from the Ireland squad which leaves tomorrow (SAT) for the forthcoming ICC InterContinental Cup clash with Scotland and the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan.
The 39 year-old suffered a reaction to his ongoing knee problem following last week's warm weather training at the European Cricket Performance Centre in La Manga.
Fellow Merrion and Leinster Lightning player John Anderson will replace Joyce in the squad, subject to ICC approval. He is currently playing grade cricket in Tasmania.
The 35 year-old has played six times in the competition scoring one hundred and five half centuries to average 47.
Ireland face Scotland in Dubai in the four-day game starting on November 29, followed by the ODI series against Afghanistan in Sharjah on December 5, 7 and 10.
