Kevin O'Brien Cricket Academy is delighted to announce a new innovative partnership with Monaghan Cricket Club that will see the Irish International’s Academy provide a state of the art, bespoke coaching programme tailored specifically to Monaghan’s Junior and Senior sides.
Currently Monaghan Cricket Club are playing in the NCU Section 2 having finished 4th in 2018 after winning section 3 in 2017. The club are looking to push for promotion in 2019 and engaging with the Kevin O’Brien Cricket Academy is a clear indication of Monaghan’s ambition for the future. It is not just the Senior sides that Monaghan are focussed on however and after successfully conducting a junior training program in partnership with the Monaghan Sports Partnership this year, the KOBCA will also be working with all Monaghan Junior sides.
As part of the initial partnership, the Kevin O’Brien Cricket Academy will run ten half-day coaching sessions that will incorporate the tactical, technical and mental sides of cricket, alongside working on the individual and team game-plans for batting, bowling and fielding. Five of the ten half-day sessions will be held indoors in St Macartan’s College running from October through to early December, and then five further sessions will complete Monaghan’s preparation for the 2019 season in April next year.
Aravind Sudhaharan, the Monaghan CC Club Coordinator says the club is really looking forward to the partnership; “We are really excited by this venture with the Kevin O’Brien Cricket Academy as the club can only benefit by having someone with Kevin’s experience involved. I’d like to thank St. Macartan’s College, Monaghan County Council, Monaghan Sports Partnership, Brix Workwear, Balti House and Monaghan Electric for their contribution and support to the club.”
Speaking on the news Kevin O’Brien said; “It is a real pleasure to announce this exciting partnership with Monaghan Cricket Club, who I hope will be the first of many clubs that my Cricket Academy can partner with in the future. I’ve been incredibly lucky throughout my career to have played cricket all over the world and learnt so much by playing the game in varying conditions. I want to be able to share my knowledge and experience to help cricket clubs across Ireland develop with quality coaching and give back to the sport that has given me so much.”
The KOBCA would welcome speaking to any clubs around Ireland about partnership opportunities. For further information please email info@kevinobriencricket.com
