From Dubai to Dundalk.
Kevin O’Brien fresh from the latest triumphs of the Irish Cricket Team's successful Twenty20 World Cup qualifying tournament in Dubai paid a visit to Dundalk Cricket Club on Saturday April 14th to lead a coaching session ahead of the start of the Cricket Season this month.
Kevin was in Dundalk to pass on some of the know how that has made him such a star of the Irish team and the world beater that he is.
The day started with a coaching session for the junior members of the club and Kevin wasted no time in putting the colts through their paces. No doubt these young cricketers will be telling the story of how they were coached by Kevin for a long time to come. The pay off should be seen over the next few seasons when these youngsters start setting their own records.
The afternoon was then given over to the senior players of the Division winning 1st X1 team. This was an intense high energy session and Kevin made sure to pass on as much of his know how as possible, hopefully the 1st XI will now continue their winning ways in the 2011 season.
On completion of the coaching after a well earned breather by all those that took part, Marianne Butler Chair of Dundalk Town Council was on hand to thank Kevin for his visit to Dundalk and contribution to the future success of Dundalk Cricket Club. In token of appreciation Councillor Butler presented Kevin with a Dundalk Town Council paper weight and tie.
