The Sherwin O’Riordan Leinster Lightning Bolts have today rounded off a fine week in the NCU, winning the Final of the Future Series T20 week.
Bowling first against the Emerging Knights, there were a few excellent spells as Byron McDonough in particular opened the bowling with his four overs seeing him take 2/5.
The pick of the bowlers was his club-mate Olly Riley who took 3/17, whilst the other successful bowlers were Mikey O’Reilly and Sam Willemse, with the pair of left-arm seamers both also taking two wickets.
The chase was completed in straightforward fashion, as Cameron Rowe top scored with 31, whilst there were also contributions from Adam Rosslee and Philippe le Roux who were both not out at the end of the 8 wicket victory.
This victory seals the T20 leg of the Future Series for the Lightning Bolts, with their next fixture set to be a home game to kick off the 50 over campaign on July 17th.
Well done to all players, and head coach Andre Botha, on an excellent week representing the side in the NCU.
