CUS overcame St Joseph's Rush in a thrilling Under 14 League Final played in bright sunshine at Leinster CC Rathmines.
The star of the show for CUS was Nathan McGuire who made a magnificent 114 supported by Ben Lockhart (28 not out) and the three Tonge brothers who all made important contributions.
Best of the bowling for St Joseph's was Andrew Doheny who took 4 wickets for 46 runs supported by Daniel Thorne who also bowled well taking 2 wickets for 52 runs.
In reply, St Joseph's made a great effort to chase down the imposing total and their innings was anchored by captain Jack McGee who scored a mature 89 runs almost taking his team to the finishing line. Jack was well supported Adam Brogan (16), Daniel Thorne (15) and John Kirk (12).
The highlights from the CUS bowling was a fine 2-35 from Eoin Keohane and 2-39 from Nathan McGuire to cap a fine all round performance.
A great game played in positive spirit by two teams full of promising young cricketers.
