The Senior Career Batting Averages cover all those players who played in OCD1 and OCD2 [since introduction of promotion and relegation] the Leinster Senior Cup and the various forms of the Leinster Senior League / Cup [sometimes referred to as the Wiggins Teape League].
The career batting averages include all players who have accumulated 5,000 or more runs in their career. This year three new names hava been added to the list, John Anderson [Merrion] who has entered in 4th place, Tom Fisher [YMCA] in 10th and Bill Coghlan [Clontarf] at 29th. Overall there are 68 players in the history of Leinster cricket going back to 1919 who are included in the batting averages, 13 of whom are current players.
Since the last update of the figures Alan Lewis has passed the 15,000 run mark - only the second player after Brendan O'Brien to have acheived this feat.
The breakdown into groups by number of runs scored is set out below and the full list below that.
