Cricket Leinster would like to record its gratitude and appreciation to Mark Jones who has recently decided to step-down as Leinster Lightning Team Manager.
Jonesy has served in this role since 2013 and has partnered with no less than four distinguished Head Coaches in delivering enormous success for the Lightning in all Senior Men’s Inter-provincial competitions.
In addition to delivering high levels of performance, Jonesy has played a vital role in supporting the development of many young players who have subsequently achieved full International honours whilst he was also fundamental to the establishment of the Bolts Programme which is now a well-established component of our player pathway.
Succession
Cricket Leinster is now seeking a suitable person to undertake the Lightning/Bolts Manager role working alongside Nigel Jones in his capacity as Head Coach & Pathway Manager. The position, which is largely a volunteer post, includes an honorarium payment and an expense allocation to cover travel, accommodation and incidentals.
The successful candidate will ideally have a strong cricket background, an excellent current knowledge of the club game, excellent organisational skills and some previous coaching/mentoring experience. The Inter-provincial programme has still to be confirmed for 2020 although it is likely to follow a similar pattern to 2019 with the Team Manager required to manage logistics and participate at all match days.
To apply for this post, please submit a short letter summarising why would like this role, your credentials and what you would bring to the position, and email it to Philip Smith, General Manager, Cricket Leinster (philip.smith@cricketleinster.ie). Alternatively, you may post your application to Philip Smith, Cricket Leinster, 13 Sandyford Office Park, Sandyford, Dublin 18.
The closing date for applications is Friday 29th November 2019.
