The Leinster Lightning Bolts Squad for their season-opening fixture this week have today been confirmed as the Future Series kicks off with two 50 over games, facing off against the Emerging Knights on Tuesday firstly in Lisburn, before another away trip on Thursday, this time to the North West to face the Emerging Warriors.
The squad to face off against the Emerging Knights sees 3 representatives from each of Balbriggan and YMCA, whilst Malahide account for two members of the squad and there’s one member from each of The Hills, Pembroke, Railway Union and Merrion.
With no fewer than 7 of the squad having full InterProvincial experience, there’s also a first taste of Future Series action for Balbriggan’s in-form duo of Chris de Freitas and Dylan Lues, whilst Jamie Forbes, who was noted as a player of huge potential by coach Nigel Jones last week in the extended squad announcement, gets his first taste of the action in a Lightning environment. Liam McCarthy is set to make his Future Series debut as well, in spite of having already represented the Munster Reds in the full IP series.
