The Leinster Lightning squad to face the Northern Knights shows three changes to that which drew with the North West Warriors in their last InterProvincial Championship match.
Rush opener Stephen Doheny, fresh from his player of the match heroics in the National Cup final, and Leinster’s Gareth Delany will be looking to add to their, as yet, limited First Class experience.
The North County talisman Eddie Richardson completes the changes to the squad that drew with the Warriors in June, before the Warriors secured the title in July with two wins over the Knights.
Earlier this season the Lightning defeated the Knights by five wickets with just 12 balls to spare after three days of competitive cricket at Comber, thanks to 123 not out from Merrion’s evergreen John Anderson.
The Knights, as they have all season, include Leinster based Harry Tector (YMCA) and Neil Rock, captain of Doheny’s victorious Rush side, while James Shannon returns to captain a squad containing two each from NCU Premier League winning CIYMS and Irish Senior Cup winning Waringstown.
The final match of the InterProvincial Championship season will take place at Pembroke’s Sydney Parade ground and not in Malahide as previously advertised, with play getting underway at 10.30am each day.
There will be updates throughout the day’s play on Twitter @LCU_Lightning with daily reports here on the Cricket Leinster website.
