The Sherwin O’Riordan sponsored Leinster Lightning squads for next week’s concluding IP50 game of the 2023 season have been named. It has been a challenging season for the Lightning which has regularly operated without many of its core squad players and this next game continues this trend.
As he has all season, Josh Little remains unavailable whilst Harry Tector has been given permission to play end-of-season red-ball cricket for Gloucestershire who are second from bottom in Division 2 of the English County Championship.
Lorcan Tucker (who has played whenever possible) is away in the Caribbean representing the Trinbago Knight Riders whilst fellow Pembroke man, Barry McCarthy is also out of action having picked up an injury in training.
With George Dockrell back at the helm following the India T20 Series, Head Coach Andre Botha will be hoping for a decent finish to the IP season albeit that Northern Knights are in pole position to secure the title being already 4 points ahead and with a game in-hand. The Knights have already won the IP20 title so are within reach of an IP double.

Andrew Balbirnie comes into the squad for this final IP50 fixture whilst Séamus Lynch will keep wicket in the absence of Lorcan Tucker (Caribbean) and Mark Donegan who is still recovering from a hand injury. The squad includes players from nine clubs across the Premier League & Championship.
