Following a hugely successful 2016 Hanley Energy Inter-Provincial season, the Lightning selectors have met in order to choose a winter training-squad. The squad will train throughout November and in advance of the start of the 2017 season.
In the absence of a permanent coach following the post-season departure of Ted Williamson, Ed Joyce has kindly agreed to lead the November sessions as he is basing himself in Dublin throughout the off-season.
The selectors are pleased with the mix of the squad, which sees a number of players coming into the Lightning set-up for the first time and it’s hoped the experience they will gain training with the senior players will stand to them as they push for team selection in 2017 and beyond.
