The Leinster Lightning have completed bonus point victories in their first two Hanley Energy IP20 matches this season. The North West Warriors are also on two wins but by tighter margins and so sit two points behind the Lightning.
The competition’s 100% records go on the line on Friday evening (5pm) at Bready CC.
The Lightning go into the match on the back of a record setting performance against the Northern Knights in the IP50 last Monday. A world record partnership between Simi Singh and George Dockrell set up the fielding effort which was crowned by Dockrell’s 5-21, the best bowling figures in that competition.
There are three changes to the squad that faced the Knights last Monday with David Delany, Jack Tector and Stephen Doheny stepping out. However, perhaps more relevantly, there is just one change to the squad named to face the Knights in the last T20 match.
That change sees Merrion’s Tom Stanton come in for Joe Carroll of Leinster CC. The Lightning will be looking to maintain their position at the top of the table ahead of the T20 Festival Weekend at Pembroke CC in early July.
As for the Warriors, Davy Scanlon misses out for them with back issues and he will be replaced in the squad by Donemana’s William McClintock.
There will be live updates throughout the game on Twitter at @LCU_Lightning and @cricketleinster with match report here after the game.
