The Leinster Lightning take on the Northern Knights in the Inter-Provincial 50 Over competition at The Hills Cricket Club, Skerries at 10.45am on Bank Holiday Monday, June 4th.
After a full series of fixtures in the Premier League and Division 2 on Saturday, the 12-man Lightning squad is confirmed below. Joe Carroll had been named in the squad, however he has picked up a knock and Clontarf’s David Delany retains his place.
This will be the third match against the Knights in 10 days in the third different format. The Lightning won a T20 at Shaw’s Bridge by 38 runs before the sides played out an enthralling Championship match at Comber last week, also won by the Lightning.
Kevin O’Brien returns to the 12 that played at North Down during the week, the injured Jarred Barnes stepping out on this occasion.
The Northern Knights will be captained by Shane Getkate, with Mark Adair returning to the squad. Opener Marc Ellison has been included in the one-day squad for the first time and Nikolai Smith has shaken off the knock he picked up in the Championship match to make the squad.
Rush’s Neil Rock and YMCA’s Harry Tector will continue with the Knights in this match. As we had in Comber, we may have the sight of Harry bowling to brother Jack in the Lightning squad.
Everyone will have the opportunity to see it if it does happen as the match will be live-streamed by the ‘Game of the Day’ team through the Cricket Leinster YouTube channel thanks to the sponsorship of Cairn Homes.
