Lorcan Tucker won the toss and put Cork into the field. Richard Forrest and Mark Collier opened for the Students. Collier fell early for 4, run out by Jeremy Benton. Lorcan Tucker joined Forrest but going was tough, falling for 5 in 24 balls, bowled by Diarmuid Carey. Carey then had Jamie Brown caught by Andrew Wootton for 0. Mohammad Amir Anwar then fell to Harry Fitzpatrick for 13 again caught by Wootton. The Students now 40 for 4. Richard Forest was stumped off the bowling of Jeremy Benton for 24. Isobel Joyce followed for 0, lbw to Harry Fitzpatrick. Conor Hoey batted beautifully for 56 from 65 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes before becoming one of three more victims of Harry Fitzpatrick, finally stumped. Garin Howell also stumped off the bowling of Fitzpatrick for 11 and Niall Hunt caught of Fitzpatrick's bowling for 0. Naveen Malipatil 0 not out at the end. Dublin University all out for 149 in 47.1 overs. Diarmuid Carey 2-19, Jeremy Benton 1-20, Shelford Meads 1-30 and Harry Fitzpatrick 5-32 the successful Cork bowlers. However, 24 wides contributed handsomely to the Students total.
Ross Durity and Cormac Hassett opened for Cork in what was a tricky chase. Hassett fell to Niall Hunt for 2. Jeremy Benton then fell to Jamie Brown for 8, Cork now 2-25. Aaron Cawley joined Ross Durity and the pair brought the score steadily to 90 before Cawley was bowled by Garin Howell. Kevin Bray was c&b by Conor Hoey for 8. Durity fell soon after bowled once again by the accurate Hoey. Harry Fitzpatrick caught off the bowling of Conor Hoey left Cork struggling at 110 for 6. Andrew O'Reilly and Diarmuid Carey came together and settled things down for Cork. O'Reilly fell to Mark Collier for 19 from 35 balls. Carey ended not out 10 ably assisted by Nabeel Anjum who finished not out 9. Shelford Meads and Andrew Wootton happy to stay in the hutch and cheer their colleagues home. Niall Hunt 1-13, Jamie Brown 1-33, Mark Collier 1-39, Garin Howell 1-14 and Conor Hoey 3-26 the successful bowlers for Dublin University. Again 22 extras in a low scoring game significant.
