The last weekend of the season duly saw Merrion 2 crowned Division 3 champions, after they brushed aside Leinster 2 in double quick time.
Leinster were quickly dismissed for 76, with the wickets shared around between Merrion's four bowlers - Max Neville with the best return of 4-27. For Leinster, Will Rolfe was the only player to walk away with pride intact, with 41*.
Merrion then knocked off the runs with a minimum of fuss, losing three wickets and taking only 91 balls. It cemented Merrion 2's first Division 3 trophy, to go with the five times they won the old Senior 2 league.
The OCC has subsequently met, and decided on the winners of the various Division 3 individual trophies. With only one player achieving the qualifcation mark in the batting and bowling, they didn't have too much deciding to do!
