North Kildare 5 vs Finglas 2 - North Kildare are rooted to the bottom of Group B of the Junior Cup, and are effectively already out of the chase for a semi final spot. Finglas 2 have lost twice, but wins in their two remaining matches would get them to 14 points, and an outside chance. The one previous match between the teams was last year's Russell Court Trophy match, when Sumesh Omanakuttan took 4-10 to help dismiss North Kildare for 77, giving Finglas a 99 run win, and him a career best bowling return in what is now a 29 match career for Finglas.
Clontarf 1 vs Balbriggan 1 - Seventh hosts sixth in the Premier League, not positions either would have expected to be in after two rounds of matches. Clontarf lead the head to head between the teams 5-2, and despite Balbriggan's march to the Premier League title last year, this was a fixture that went Clontarf's way in 2022. That was mainly due to the win centuries of David Vincent (104) and David Delany (135) as they added 208 for the second wicket to take Clontarf to 285/6. It was the highest 2nd wicket partnership (since 2011) for Clontarf in senior cricket. The last time two Clontarf batters scored tons in the same senior innings was in August 2016 at home to Railway Union, when Charles Wakim (171) and Bill Coghlan (102) added 205 for the first wicket, on Tarf's way to 333/2.
Merrion 1 vs The Hills 1 - The Hills sit unbeaten on top of the Premier League, and will travel to Merrion full of confidence, John Anderson needs 48 runs to get to become the 22nd player to reach 9000 senior runs (for Merrion and Railway Union). Merrion have won the last four matches against The Hills in Anglesea Road, with The Hills' last win being back in August 2016. Merrion made only 193/10, with Michael Lewis top scoring with 47 and Albert van der Merwe taking 2-16. The Hills were not really bothered when chasing, as Cormac McLoughlin-Gavin (75*) and Hamid Shah (70) added 141 for the second wicket to see The Hills winners by 8 wickets with 24 balls to spare.
Malahide 1 vs YMCA 1- It is no surprise to anyone that the Premier League is shaping up to be massively competitive. Both of these sides have already won one and lost one, and it is difficult to see any one side running away with it, or being cut adrift at the bottom. The two Premier League games between these two last year were massively contrasting (both played in Malahide). On August 28, Finn Conaty took 4-24 (his career best in 33 matches for Leinster and YMCA) as Malahide were bundled out for 97, YMCA winning by 8 wickets. Two weeks before, Malahide has scored 251-1 (Ryan Hackney 131, Hunter Kindley 109) before YMCA finished 13 runs short. Jack Tector scored 53* and 96 across those two games, the 22nd and 23rd time he has passed 50 for YMCA. Watch out for the leading scorer in all the Open Competitions - Younus Ahmadzai who has now scored 533 runs at 66.63 for Malahide.
Leinster 1 vs Railway Union 1 - Unbeaten Leinster host Railway Union who have lost their last two. Leinster have not beaten Railway in a league match at home since June 2013, in one of the stranger results in Leinster history. Railway Union scored 310/5, thanks to tons from Pat Collins (113) and Kenny Carroll (140*). In reply, there were 50s for Richard Forrest (53), Hugh Mac Donnell (68) and Stephen Moreton (54), with Leinster being bowled out for 305. But it was pre-Duckworth Lewis, and to quote the scorecard, " Under 12.2.3 of the playing regulations, Railway Union had bowled 49 overs at the end of their permitted time allocation. Their score was adjusted to their score after 48 overs - 292. Leinster passed this score for the loss of seven wickets". With a bit of hindsight, it looks as if the game should have ended several overs earlier, but the runs scored after that stand in the records.
Terenure 1 vs Phoenix 1 - No preview, as previous matches this season involving at least one of these teams still to be processed.
Rush 1 vs Pembroke 1 - No preview, as previous matches this season involving at least one of these teams still to be processed.
North Kildare 1 vs North County 1 - No preview, as previous matches this season involving at least one of these teams still to be processed.
Cork County 1 vs Civil Service 1 - No preview, as previous matches this season involving at least one of these teams still to be processed.
North County 2 vs YMCA 2 - The Tillain Cup groups reach their final matches. North County are bottom and out of the running whilst YMCA must win their two games today, and rely on Civil Service and Adamstown to cancel each other out in their last games. In last week's reverse fixture, County made 131/6 before YMCA fell 17 runs short. Henry Thompson scored 56 (the fourth time has has passed 50 for YMCA 2), but received little support against a disciplined North County bowling attack.
Knockharley 2 vs Finglas 1 - These two teams play the first of two matches in the Intermediate Cup this weekend. Knockharley are already out after losing their first three matches, but two wins for Finglas would move them to the top of Group D with a win over Civil Service being enough to take them to the semi finals. The teams have never met before, so a quick look at their top performers so far this year. Knockharley are 3-3 in all matches, with their leading run scorer being Shoaib Khan with 171 at 34.2 and their leading wicket takers being Asif Ali and Shoaib Khan with 10 each. Finglas are 3-2 with Rahul Balachandran being their leading run scorer (204 runs at 40.8) and their leading wicket taker being Ankur Ghogale with 13 at 11.15.
Wexford Wanderers 1 vs Clontarf 3 - No preview, as previous matches this season involving at least one of these teams still to be processed.
Carlow 1 vs Clontarf 4 - Two teams who find themselves at the wrong end of Division 6. Clontarf have lost their first six matches, whilst in fairness to Carlow, they have only played two matches on the field - winning one and losing one. They will move up the table if they win their games in hand. The one previous meeting between the teams was an ultra low-scoring affair in St Patrick's College. Carlow were bowled out for 94, with Liam Gilhooly taking 5-12, before Clontarf found it even harder, totaling only 64, with Robi Alam the pick with 4-18. Gilhooly has now gone on to first team cricket, but that remains his career best. Alam has three better bowling performances for Carlow 1, including a 5-43 against Clontarf 4 in 2021. Clontarf's 64 sneaks in as their fifth lowest score since the start of 2011.
Pembroke 5 vs Castleknock 3 - Division 16 is taking shape nicely, and Castleknock 3 find themselves looking down on the other right teams after winning their first five. Pembroke are all the way back in 8th place with a 2-4 record. Adding in a Minor Cup loss, and Pembroke are 2-5 for their season, but it is difficult to pin down the reasons. They haven't been bowled out for less than 118, and have taken at least 5 wickets eight times. The only player with more than 100 runs is Bhushan Baviskar with 282 at 70.5. Graham Mooney is their leading wicket taker with 10 wickets at 9.40. Castleknock 3 are 6-1 for the season with the leading run scorer being Sohail Khan with 210 at 30, and their top wicket taker being Arif Mohammed with 10 wickets at 5.5.
Ongar 1 vs Dundalk 1 - A top of the table clash in Group A of the Junior Cup although it ust be said that four teams in the group have played two or less matches. Ongar have won all three matches after wins over Clontarf 6, Malahide 5 and Wexford Wanderers 2, with Dundalk also being unbeaten after wins over Malahide 5 and Clontarf 6. There have been stacks of tuns so far this year from Ongar, with three players getting past 175 runs. Leader of the pack is Naveen Kumar Baddam with 195 at 27.86 with their leading wicket taker being Santosh Kumar with 13 wickets at 15.23. For Dundalk, the leading run scorer is Umer Khan with 112 runs at 56, with their leading wicket taker being Sanju Baby with 14 wickets at 7.71
Athlone 1 vs Tyrrelstown 1 - A crucial clash in Group C of the Middle Cup. Bagenalstown 1 look to be already out, but Merrion 4, and these two teams are very much in the shake up. Tyrrelstown lead the head to head between the teams 2-1, with all three matches being played in Division 8. The one match played in Athlone saw a big 159 run win for Tyrrelstown, which saw them getting to 270 all out, with no player getting more than Shirish Sonawane's 50.
Adamstown 2 vs Merrion 3 - Two teams at opposite ends of Group A of the YMCA Salver, but even having lost their first three games, Merrion 3 aren't quite out of it. They need to start by winning today, against an Adamstown 2 side full of confidence after winning their first three matches. In the reverse match, Merrion made a respectable 141/6 with Denny David top scoring with 56, his third 50 for Merrion 3 this season, after only scoring one other 50 in 110 matches for Merrion since 2012. But it was no way near enough, as Adamstown scored 143/4 from 18.3 overs, Sunil Parashar top scoring with 46.
Railway Union 3 vs Swords 1 - No preview, as previous matches this season involving at least one of these teams still to be processed.
The Hills 5 vs Swords 5 - The Hills had all four of their games rained off at the start of the season, which doesn't leave them out of qualification - but they do need to start winning. Swords have lost all four matches, and even four wins won't be enough to get to the semis. This is the first of two Minor 2 Cup matches between the teams today. The teams met in the Minor 2 Cup last year, with Swords winning by 6 wickets. The Hills made 102-4 with Akash Sabharwal top scoring with 32 (his top score for the team in eight matches for The Hills 5). That was no problem for Swords, who won with 18 balls to spare, Amal Nandh top scoring with 31*.
Balbriggan 3 vs Adamstown 3 - Group C of the Intermediate Cup is tight, with a long way to go. No team had lost more than two games, and if any team can win four matches, they are likely to advance to the semis. Balbriggan lost their first game to North Kildare 3 whilst Adamstown lost to North Kildare and Tyrrelstown whilst beating North Kildare. The sides haven't played since June 2019 in a Whelan Cup match in Corkagh Park. Iftikhar Sabir took 3-25 and Akkshai Chand 4-24 as Adamstown were bowled out for 59 before Balbriggan won by 9 wickets. Adamstown 3's total was the lowest we have recorded for them.
Ashbourne 2 vs Leinster 5 - Ashbourne are 5th in Division 14 with a 2-2 record, whilst Leinster are one place higher having played an extra game (2-3). There has only been one previous match between the teams, the reverse fixture on May 6. Leinster were bowled out for 130, with Anjani Bonam taking 4-24 (he has since moved up to Ashbourne 1, taking 5-19 last week). Ashbourne were struggling at 76-5, Bonam and Manoj Malviya added 58 for the 6th wicket to see them home. That was the highest 6th wicket partnership for Ashbourne 2 we have on record.
DLR County 1 vs Mullingar 1 - DLR County find themselves at the bottom of Group B of the Middle Cup, but are far from being out, the three games still to play for each side. THey have two losses and a rained off match to their name with Mullingar having a win, a loss and a Rain off. The sides haven't met since 2019, when the match in Shanganagh Park saw DLR County being bowled out for 137. That was more than enough as Mullingar were dismissed for even less as Vivekanandan Srinivasan took 3-7 to bowl the visitors out for 82.
Greystones 1 vs Pembroke 3 - Group B of the YMCA Salver is another tight group, and despite losing their first three fixtures, Greystones aren't quite out of it yet. They must win today though, else they are out. Pembroke 3 are a bit better, having won two and lost two. The return fixture between the two sides was remarkable for two individual performances. Pembroke made a decent 146/6, with Jurgens Badenhorst top scoring with 42 and Mamoon Rashid taking 3-22. Greystones were going well at 101-3 and then again at 114-6 before Bruce Whaley took 5-5 as Greystones lost their last four wickets for five runs. That was Whaley's first 5 wicket haul for Pembroke in a career now into it's 42nd match. To make the day even more special, Dad Bill Whaley took 3-19 as Greystones lost by 27 runs. The one bright spot for Greystones was Rashid, who scored 52 to complete a fine match, the 8th player to score a 50 and take 3 wickets in an innings for Greystones 1.
Adamstown 8 vs Terenure 5 - Group B in the Minor 2 Cup looks to be interesting, as the four clubs haven't made all the fixtures as we get to the crunch point of the league! Adamstown play twice this weekend and four wins will be enough to qualify in a competition where the top two qualify for the semi finals. They have three games organised, with a match at home to Greystones still to be arranged. Terenure won their first game against Adamstown, but after today have only arranged one more match, and three wins may not be enough, depending on how other sides do. In the reverse fixture on June 4, Benjamin Dillon scored 55 out of Terenure's 150/8 with Adamstown only making 107/5. It was Dillon's first 50 in his 16 match Terenure career, and the team's highest ever team score.
Lucan 3 vs Kilkenny 2 - Kilkenny 2 look to be the team to beat in Group A of the Minor Cup with three wins from their first three matches. Lucan's campaign has been a wash out with two rained off matches, but that doesn't see the too far behind, and they are still in with a good chance of taking one of the two semi final spots. Kilkenny are 4-2 for the season, winning their last three. Ahsan Tasleem is the team's leading run scorer with 170 runs at 42.5, and their leading wicket taker is Lintu Regi with 8 wickets at 12.38. Lucan won their first game on April 15, but have lost their only two games since - a long time without a win! No Lucan 3 player has yet got past 100 runs or 5 wickets for the season.
Civil Service 5 vs Adamstown 6 - A slow start to Group A of the Russell Court Trophy. Civil Service may be in bottom place with a rained off game and a loss, but four wins in their remaining matches should get them to the semis. Adamstown have three matches remaining, and after two wins and a loss, three wins would also probably see them through. Civil Service are 1-3 for the season - none of their batters have yet got to 100 runs, none of their bowlers have got past five wickets. Adamstown are 5-4, with their top run scorer being Waleed Ahsen Abbasi with an amazing 412 runs at 82.40 (5th highest in the province) and their leading wicket taker being Rajnish Kumar Malik with 14 wickets at 15.43.
The Hills 3 vs Clondalkin 1 - It is all over for The Hills 3 in Group A of the Middle Cup after losing their first three matches. But Clondalkin 1 are in a much better position after winning two of their first three matches. Winning their three remaining matches guarantees them a semi final place. Two wins could be enough if results go their way. The sides have met three times in the past with Clondalkin winning all three. The last time they played in The Vineyard was in May 2022, Raja Imran Ali scored 65 and Muhammad Islam 62 (his career highest score across 25 matches in Cricket Leinster for three different clubs) as Clondalkin made 198/9. Ali Imran Butt took 4-44 for The Hills, his best bowling in the six matches he played for The Hills in 2022. In reply The Hills were always up with the rate, and at 163-5 looked to be favourites. But four wickets for Muhammad Kaleem Saleem (who took 4-33, his second best bowling for Clondalkin 1) saw The Hills slip to 187 all out. Robyn Searle top scored with 41, her second highest score in 13 matches in the Open Comps.
Kilkenny 3 vs Castleknock 4 - Castleknock 4 have yet to play their first game in Group B of the Adamstown Cup, so it follows that there is a lot of cricket still to be played in this group. Kilkenny 3 have played two matches, beating Carlow 3 and losing to Athlone 3. Kilkenny 3 are 2-5 for the season, with Castleknock being 3-2 (all in Division 19). Kilkenny's leading batter is Saptarshi Mukherjee with 209 at 26.13 with their leading wicket taker being Dr Fahim Khan with 9 at 16. For Castleknock, their top wicket taker is Azgar Baig with 11 wickets at 9.64 and their leading run scorer is Sajid Imran with 106 runs at 21.2.
Naas 1 vs Lucan 2 - Lucan 2 find themselves in a strong position at the top of Group D of the Whelan Cup, winning their first three matches. Naas have won one and lost one, and are by no means out of it yet. Last year's Whelan Cup match between the teams saw a brilliant innings from Ali Hashmi, who scored 110 to take Naas to 194/5 - their highest T20 score. That was Hashmi's sixth hundred in Leinster cricket, in a career that we started recording in 2011. Since then he has scored 3491 runs at 32.93, the 28th highest average amongst those to have scored 3000 runs in that period. Lucan scored well themselves, but could only make 173/7.
Merrion 7 vs Sandyford 4 - Group A of the Adamstown Cup is taking a while to get going. Merrion have won one and lost one, Sandyford a rained off match and a loss. Their only previous match was a Division 19 game on April 23. At 123-1 it looked good for Merrion (although the card doesn't state how many overs were left at this stage). 21 runs later they were 144/9 from their 20 overs. The wickets were shared around for Sandyford, Anthony Jones scored 86 for Merrion, his first 50 in his fourth match for the club. It was a similar story for Sandyford, who must have been confident at 52-1 before losing 9 wickets for 29 runs. Jones completed a memorable match with 5-14, only the 5th player since 2011 to have a 50 and 5 wickets in the same match for Merrion (Timcy Khanduja, John Anderson, Prashanth Reddy Siddireddy and Ben Ackland being the others)
Swords 2 vs Rush 3 - Only one game in the Whelan Cup this weekend, but with both teams still mathematically in with a chance of qualification, it is an important one. Rush have won one and lost one (with a rained off match as well) with Swords having lost both of their first two matches. Swords have had a tough start to the season with a 2-6 record, with Rush a much better 4-1. Rush's leading run scorer is Rush stalwart Niall Mullen with 202 runs at 67.33;l their leading wicket taker is young star Callum Armstrong. Armstrong took 5-13 last week - only three younger players have taken five wickets in an innings in the Open Competitions since the start of the 2011 season.
Malahide 5 vs Wexford Wanderers 2 - Malahide play their last game in Group A of the Junior Cup, and only a miracle will get them into the semis. Wexford have only played two games (a win and a loss) and four wins will definitely see them through - three wins and they have a chance. The last match between the pair in Malahide was a high scoring affair on the top pitch in Malahide. Brendan Orsmond top scored with 84 for Wexford Wanderers, one of four 50s he scored for the club across 2021 and 2022 taking his team to 267 all out. That was Wexford Wanderers 2's highest team score in the 126 matches we have on record. In reply, Malahide were 48-4, but a brilliant 159 from Eddie Bones nearly got them home, eventually falling short by 24 runs. That was Bones' highest score in only six matches for Malahide between 2019 and 2022 and the second highest score for any team in Malahide since the start of the 2011 season, Lhuan-dre Pretorius' 171 for Malahide 2 against North County 2 last July being the highest.
Mullingar 2 vs Merrion 5 - Group A of the Whelan Cup is another exciting group where everything is wide open. Three matches this weekend will go someway towards deciding the semi final qualifier, but it may have to wait until early July. Only one previous match between these two sides - the reverse fixture at the start of May. Merrion made 126/8 (Rishabh Sharma (41), before RajaGopal Gopalakrishnan hit 60* to get Mullingar home by 6 wickets - and off the last ball.
Phoenix 3 vs Malahide 3 - Both Phoenix and Malahide are very much in the race for the semi final spot in Group D of the YMCA Salver, although Malahide's unbeaten start leaves them in the best position. In fact across all competitions, Malahide 3 are 6-0, one of the best starts to the season in the province. They won the reverse match on June 3. Benjamin Thomson (73) and Usama Dar (24) added 58 for the 7th wicket as Phoenix got to 154/6. That was no problem for Malahide, thanks to Prince Paulson (46) and Nick Turner (57*) who saw Malahide home by 7 wickets with 8 balls to spare. That was only Thomson's second 50 in 34 innings for Phoenix.
North Kildare 2 vs Civil Service 3 - North Kildare play twice in Group C of the YM Salver this weekend, and with the group being so wide open, it is all to play for. The reverse fixture saw a solid 8 wicket win for Civil Service. Veteran Gulan Singh top scored for North Kildare with 43, as Syed Akbar took 3-10 to restrict North Kildare to 115/7. Simranjeet Singh then hit 50 as Civil Service won with 38 balls and 8 wickets to spare. Simranjeet is 5th on the post 2010 list of Civil Service run scorers with 1177 at 24.52.
Castleknock 1 vs Terenure 2 - A YMCA Salver Group B match with both sides in the hunt for the semi finals. Both teams have won twice, with Terenure having also lost to Pembroke 3. Terenure have lost the last four matches between the teams, with their last win being in the Middle Cup in Terenure in 2014. Oisin Farrell took 4-14 (his best bowling for Terenure in 81 matches between 2012 and 2015) as Castleknock were bowled out for 87. That was no problem for Kenny McDonald who scored 62* as Terenure won by 9 wickets. Since 2011, McDonald comes 5th in the list of Terenure club run scorers with 3078 runs at 21.52. Mick Cotter is top with 3667 runs at 14.61.
Wexford Wanderers 1 vs Clontarf 3 - Group C of the YMCA Salver is still wide open with all four teams capable of winning the group. These two are playing a double header today, with 8 points up for grabs across the two games. Wexford are 3-2 for the season, with their leading batting performer being Sean Graham with 135 runs at 67.5 and their leading wicket taker is Adeel Mohammad with 15 wickets at 6.80. Adeel is the fourth highest wicket taker for Wexford Wanderers 1 since 2011, with Alan Murphy, Nithin Padmaprabhu and Sharjeel Shaikh the players above him. Clontarf 3 are 1-6 for the season and their players have similarly struggled. Rana Asad is the top run scorer with 164 runs at 23.43. No bowler has yet got past five wickets for the season.
Knockharley 1 vs Merrion 2 - Knockharley's first game of an important double weekend. Two wins and they would be on the brink of qualification from the Tillain Cup's group of death. However, their loss to Clontarf on Thursday night makes it very tight at the top of the group, and they will need to win at least two, possible three to qualify. On May 28, Knockharley 1 recorded their first ever win against Merrion 2 in Anglesea Road, and their first at any level at the Ballsbridge ground since 2018, when they beat Merrion 3 by 2 wickets. Mark Ingamell (39), Ramiz Sohail (32) and Muhammad Nawaz (65) all scored well as Knockharley got home with 8 wickets at 14 balls to spare.
North County 6 vs Sandyford 3 - This weekend, North County play their final two games in Group A of the Minor Cup, and after two rained off matches and two losses, advancing to the semis seems unlikely. Sandyford have two wins and a loss from their first three matches - a strong position. Their only ever meeting was a Division 18 fixture on May 21st, Sandyford made 194/10 with Joel Jeba Kumar Palayan top scoring with 62, and Mahad Gull (3-14) and Alex Denver (3-26) doing well with the ball. It then went all wrong for North County with Aaditya Shah and Deva Kumar Anandan both taking three wickets as North County were bowled out for only 21. From a North County perspective it wasn't too bad - they were bowled out for 20 on May 6 by Finglas 3 and so crept past their low point.
Athlone 2 vs Terenure 4 - A busy weekend in Group B of the Russell Court Trophy. Still lots to be decided in the group but one thing that is known is that Castleknock 3 and Swords 3 are out. These two are very much in the hunt, making this game crucial. In the 2020 Adamstown Cup match played in Doon, David Johnston snr too 5-17 as Athlone made 120/7 from 20 overs. That was as good as it got for Terenure, who struggled to 84/9 to lose by 35 runs. Jonhston's bowling was the 6th best recorded in the Adamstown Cup, and the best in any competition for Terenure 4.
Ongar 2 vs Tyrrelstown 5 - Second hosts third in GroupA of the Adamstown Cup. Both are in a healthy situation but probably too many fixtures left to know exactly what they need. This will be the first meeting between the teams, as the reverse fixture was rained off when Ongar were 54-1. Ongar are an impressive 6-2 for the year. Their leading run scorer is Rajkiran Pucchakayala with 194 runs at 32.33; their leading wicket taker is Arun Reddy Katheri with 15 wickets at 10. For Tyrrelstown, the season has been mixed with a 4-4 record. Their best with the bat is Jithesh Vijayakumar with 177 at 35.40, and with the ball it is Praveen Bankikodlu Shivanand with an impressive 21 wickets at 8.52 - he is 2nd in the province, with The Hills' Cian Nulty the only bowler to have taken more wickets this year.
Adamstown 5 vs North County 5 - The first of two games for North County 5 in the Junior Cup. They still have a chance of a semi final spot but need to win all three remaining games. Adamstown have two games left, and probably also need to win both. Adamstown are 2-6 for the season. Vinayak Komati is their leading run scorer with 172 runs at 24.57 and Avinash Avinash has most wickets with 10 at 11.10. North County are 2-3, with top run scorer Asad Ali with 119 runs at 29.75, and top wicket takers Mahad Gull and Srinivas Yerramsetti with 9 each.
YMCA 2 vs Civil Service 2 - Two games for YMCA today in Group A of the Tillain Cup. North County 2 are already out, but the other three teams are in with a shout - but YMCA have to win both matches. Civil Service still have three games left - win all three and they have qualified for the semis. The reverse fixture on May 1, saw YMCA get to 136/7 with Thomas Johnson top scoring with 35. Jamie Miller took 3-18 in reply as Service never quite got going (only Deepak Jayachandran got past 20 with 24), finishing 26 runs short. That was Miller's career best in 25 matches for YMCA.
Balbriggan 4 vs Carlow 2 - Balbriggan need a miracle in Group B of the Russell Court Trophy. Win all their remaining games and they may sneak through on net run rate - if other results go their way. Carlow are in a great position, having won their first three games. The teams haven't played each other since a Division 16 match in Carlow in May 2019. Zahir Uddin scored 91 for Carlow as they made 163/10. At the time, that was his highest score in Leinster cricket, although Zahir has since scored a hundred for Carlow against Bagenalstown. It was a similar story for Balbriggan, as Derek Rooney dominated, scoring 83, but receiving no support, as Brigg were bowled out for 116. Rooney's innings comes in at 3rd in the Balbriggan "Bannerman" list - the highest percentage of runs scored by a batter in an innings - although this is the clubs highest percentage in a completed innings.
Railway Union 4 vs Castleknock 2 - Not quite at the half way stage yet in Group A of the Inter Cup, but Railway are in a good position with two wins from two. Castleknock have also played two, winning one and losing one. The reverse fixture on May 21 saw Railway put up an impressive 180/7, with Jasper Xavier Joe Patrick Kumar top scoring with 55 (his first four games for Railway have resulted in a symmetrical feel - two 55s and two ducks. ). Castleknock never really threatened, no batter got past 30 - no bowler more than 2 wickets as the game petered out into a 60 run win for Railway.
North Kildare 3 vs Tyrrelstown 2 - The first of Tyrrelstown's two matches in the Inter Cup this weekend, with two wins being enough for them to qualify for the semi finals. North Kildare also have two games left, and a pair of wins for them would leave them right in the mix as well. The pair played on June 4th in the reverse fixture with Tyrrelstown completing an excellent 10 wicket win. North Kildare put up a decent 124/9, but that was no issue for Yuva Kumar Dabbara (58) and Vamsi Mukollu (53) as they won with 23 balls to spare. It was Tyrrelstown 2's first ever 10 wicket win, in their 86th match.
