North County 4 vs Rush 3 - No preview, as previous matches this season involving at least one of these teams still to be processed.
Finglas 1 vs Civil Service 4 - No preview, as previous matches this season involving at least one of these teams still to be processed.
Finglas 3 vs Mullingar 3 - Group B in the Minor Cup is shaping up to be a classic. DLR County 2 (1st) played Finglas (2nd) yesterday, and today Finglas take on Mullingar (3rd). Finglas are 6-2 for the season, winning their last five matches in the Minor Cup and Division 18, with Mullingar winning their last three - including two matches in Division 17. It should be a close one.
Clondalkin 2 vs Adamstown 5 - Clondalkin in a strong position in Group B of the Junior Cup with two wins and a rained off match. No result yet from Adamstown 5's match yesterday, but they lost their first two matches, and desperately need a win today. The two teams last met in a pair of Division 16 matches back in 2017. In the September match, Adamstown made 283/6, thanks to 50 from Rozeeen Ahmed and 77* from Tahir Shahzad. That is Adamstown 5's highest ever score.
Malahide 6 vs Mullingar 4 - The first match in a double header between the teams today. Group A in the Minor 2 Cup has been slow to get off the ground, with lots of rain and several walkovers, so everything to play for. Malahide are yet to win any of the seven matches they have played in Cricket Leinster. Mullingar 4 only played their first match in Cricket Leinster competitions on May 13th, losing to Clontarf 7, so one of these teams (and possibly both) should win their first matches in their history today.
Leinster 6 vs Carlow 3 - No preview, as previous matches this season involving at least one of these teams still to be processed.
Pembroke 3 vs Longford 1 - The second of Pembroke 3's two Division 6 matches this weekend, after facing Terenure 2 yesterday. Longford have had an excellent start to the year, with five straight wins in Division 6, with Pembroke only having completed one match - a loss to Railway Union 3. This will be the sixth match between the teams, all in Division 5 and with Longford winning all six. Not surprisingly, the best performances in the fixture have been by Longford players. The highest score was Hamza Hamayun's 135 in Newtownforbes in 2017, and the best bowling is Husnain Raza's 6-27 in 2018.
Naas 1 vs Swords 2 - No preview, as previous matches this season involving at least one of these teams still to be processed.
Merrion 7 vs Dundalk 2 - No preview, as previous matches this season involving at least one of these teams still to be processed.
Phoenix 4 vs Bagenalstown 1 - Not the best of starts to the season for Bagenalstown 1, who sit bottom of Division 8, and are now in a run of 12 consecutive games without a win. Their all time record is now not too far away - 15 matches between April 2013 and April 2014. Surprisingly, these two haven't played each other in the years since 2011. The closest they got was in 2014, when Bagenalstown finished 5th in Division 8, with Phoenix winning Division 9. Since then Bagenalstown have been the higher team, before coming back into each other's influence for 2023. Robbie O Neill is Bagenalstown's leading wicket taker with 6 wickets at 25.33; no batter has passed 100 runs. For Phoenix 4, Gaurav Kumar has 115 runs at 19.17 and Rajesh Malik has taken 8 wickets at 22.25.
Sandyford 4 vs Halverstown 2 - Similar starts for these two teams in Division 19, but with Halverstown having played two more games, they find themselves in 3rd place to Sandyford's 8th. Halverstown are 2-3 in all matches this year, with their highest wicket taker being Desmond Drumm with 8 wickets at 8.88 - no one has yet scored 100 runs, Sandyford 4 are in their first ever season since 2009 and are 2-1 for the season. Viswanathan Umamaheswaran has scored 143 runs at 71.59, and Nitish Batra has taken 7 wickets at 10.
Railway Union 2 vs Phoenix 2 - Phoenix play their last game in Group D, but look to be already out after losing three of their five matches. Railway meanwhile are unbeaten after two games. Phoenix have only won one of their last six matches in Park Avenue, and that was all the way back in 2014. Matt Lunson scored 68* from number 7 as Phoenix got to 196/8. Lunson then completed a fine game with 4-20 as Phoenix won by 30 runs. It remains the second highest score by a Phoenix 2 number 7 (after Adam Chester's 69* against Mullingar in July 2014), and only the second instance on record of a player scoring a 50 and taking 4 wickets for Phoenix 2 (after Tom Anders' 84* and 4-30 against The Hills 2 in June 2016)
Terenure 4 vs Swords 3 - Terenure find themselves very much in the shake up for a semi final spot, despite only playing one game (and winning it). Only them and Carlow 2 have so far remained unbeaten, and a good win over Balbriggan 4 will see them brimming with confidence. Swords 3 played against Athlone 2 yesterday, with that result being crucial as to the importance of today's match for them. Terenure's leading run scorer this season is Manav Sarvaiya with 169 runs at 84.5, and their leading wicket taker is Abhishek Semalty with 9 wickets at 11.33. For Swords, before this weekend, their top batter was Abhijit Madhusoodanan with 106 runs at 21.2 and their top wicket taker was Anoop Varghese with 9 wickets at 9.89.
Merrion 3 vs The Hills 2 - After two opening losses, Merrion desperately need to get back on track today, against a Hills side who lost their first match to Adamstown 2. Merrion have won the last four matches between the two teams, with the Hills' last win being in a Division 4 match in 2016 in The Vineyard. Ryan Tobin struck 89 and Mark Donegan scored 70 as The Hills totaled 326/6, the highest score we have on record for The Hills 2 at home. There was then no way back for Merrion from 63/4, and despite a lower order come back, Merrion were well beaten.
Balbriggan 2 vs Merrion 2 - A tough trip for Balbriggan 2 who need a win to get their Tillain campaign on track after losses to Knockharley 1 and Clontarf 2. Merrion have beaten Clontarf, but their loss to Knockharley in April has thrown the group wide open. The only previous meeting between the teams was a one sided Tillain Cup match in 2020. Eoin Birch top scored for Balbriggan with 26 as they were bowled out for 77, with Conor Austin taking 4-11 (his career best bowling figures). Merrion wrapped it up in 11.3 overs to win by 8 wickets (Beant Bhathal 29)
The Hills 4 vs Knockharley 3 - Two sides in the bottom half of Division 16, and both could do with a win to avoid dropping off the pace. It is early days, but Terenure 4 and Castleknock 3 are starting to open up a gap at the top. No previous matches between the two teams, so a quick look at their seasons so far. The Hills are 4-2, with Usama Shah being leading run scorer with 147 at 36.75. He is also their leading wicket taker with 11 wickets at 12.18. Knockharley are 4-4 - after losing their first three matches of the season, they have clawed it back, winning four of the last five. Leading run scorer is Muhammad Afaq with 193 runs at 28.6, and their leading wicket taker is Aabis Mirza with 9 wickets at 12.22.
North Kildare 2 vs Clontarf 3 - No preview, as previous matches this season involving at least one of these teams still to be processed.
Greystones 2 vs Phoenix 5 - No preview, as previous matches this season involving at least one of these teams still to be processed.
Adamstown 2 vs Leinster 3 - Adamstown are in prime position in Group A of the YMCA Salver after opening wins over The Hills 2 and Merrion 3. Leinster won their only match, also beating Merrion 3. Leinster lead the head to head between the teams 3-2, with Leinster not losing any of the last three, Adamstown's last win being in August 2020. Their last match in Corkagh Park resulted in a Division 6 tie, with Adamstown's 217 all out, being matched by Leinster's 217/8.
Malahide 2 vs Leinster 2 - Group C of the Tillain Cup enters it's final stages, and the scenarios are pretty straight foward. Malahide need one win from their last two matches - today and then against Rush 2 on June 18th. Leinster need to win today, and then hope Rush do them a favour. Malahide haven't actually beaten Leinster 2 in Malahide since August 2011. Alan Reynolds hit 70* in that game, as Malahide chased Leinster's 246/8 (Joe Byrne 70) for the loss of four wickets. More relevant is last week's 25 run win for Malahide in Rathmines. Ireland youth international Diarmuid Burke took 4-24 - his best bowling figures in Leinster cricket.
Adamstown 6 vs Laois 3 - Laois 3 are unbeaten with two wins in Group A of the Russell Court Trophy, whilst Adamstown 6 lost to Railway Union 5 and beat Knockharley 3. The one previous meeting saw Laois run up an impressive 196/8 from 20 overs, before Adamtown collapsed to 76 all out after having been 48-9! Hamad Tariq took 5-9, his best bowloing in 31 matches for Laois. It was the best bowling turn for Laois 3 where a bowler took five wickets.
Lucan 1 vs Mullingar 1 - The second game of the weekend for Lucan, after hosting DLR County 1 in Group B of the Middle Cup yesterday. It is still early days in the Middle Cup, but Mullingar are in the better position after beating Kilkenny on April 30th. Lucan are 1-2 this season across Division 9 and the Middle Cup, whilst Mullingar are unbeaten in three matches that have survived the weather. With Mullingar playing three divisions above Lucan in Division 6, they should be too strong.
Pembroke 5 vs Sandyford 3 - Pembroke's Minor Cup campaign has been beset by rain, with both of their matches rained off. Sandyford beat Phoenix 6 and lost to The Hills 4. This is the first ever meeting between the teams. Pembroke have had an average start to the season with two wins and two losses (across Division 16 and the Minor Cup) with Sandyford being 5-1, although four of those wins have been in Division 18.
Adamstown 4 vs YMCA 4 - No preview, as previous matches this season involving at least one of these teams still to be processed.
Tyrrelstown 2 vs North Kildare 3 - Tyrrelstown 2's second game of the weekend, with North Kildare playing their 4th game in Group C of the Inter Cup. 16 points looks as if it may be enough to qualify for the semi finals, which would need North Kildare needing two wins from their last three matches. Tyrrelstown won the one previous match between the teams, in an Intermediate Cup game last April, Tyrrelstown scoring 165/8 and restricting North Kildare to 104. so far this year, Tyrrelstown 2's leading run scorer has been Vamsi Mukollu with 201 runs at 50.25, and their leading wicket taker is Sairam Goud Ayella with 11 at 8.0. He needs six wickets in the weekend's matches to become the second Tyrrelstown player to 100 wickets for the club, after Rajkumar Koka.
Carlow 2 vs Castleknock 3 - Carlow look to be in strong position with two wins from two, after beating Athlone 2 and Swords 3. Castleknock meanwhile have lost three matches, with a fourth rained off, and must win today. Carlow are pretty much the form team in the province. They are 7-0 this season and are on their best ever run, being nine matches without a loss. No team in the province is currently in a better run, with Sandyford 1's run of 14 matches unbeaten coming to an end when they lost to Phoenix 2 on May 1 this year. Chief architects for Carlow this year have been Robert O'Driscoll with the bat with 163 runs at 27.17 and Satnam Singh and Abdullah Davodzi who both have 8 wickets.
North County 6 vs Kilkenny 2 - North County have reached the half way stage in Group A of the Minor Cup, but are yet to win a game. Kilkenny 2 have played twice, beating both Phoenix 6 and The Hills 4. County are 0-3 in all matches this year (in Division 18 and the Minor Cup), whilst the visitors are 3-2 - one of those wins being in Division 17. Ahsan Tasleem is Kilkenny's leading batter this year with 170 runs at 42.5, with no bowler yet getting past five wickets. For North County, no one has yet excelled with bat nor ball.
Clondalkin 3 vs Swords 4 - Two teams who on the face of it look to be in mid-table anonymity in Group B of the Minor Cup. But three wins in their last three matches (for both teams) could be enough to sneak into the semi finals. Clondalkin are 2-3 this year (including a loss against Swords 3) whilst Swords are 2-2 (including that Clondalkin victory). In that rain interupted April match, Clondalkin could only make 85/7 from 25 overs, with Swords knocking it off for the loss of 2 wickets in 19 overs - Aravind Ramanan scoring 39*
Railway Union 5 vs Tyrrelstown 4 - Tyrrelstown look to be out of the running in Group A of the Russell Court Trophy. Yet to win a game in their four matches, they can now only end up on 12 points, and at least 16 points are likely to be needed. Railway are in a stronger position (although they have only played twice), and could still get to 20 points. The sides played in Division 15 in April. Maninderjit Ghai scored 62 as Railway were bowled out for 164 (Srini Balasubramaniyam 4-24). Railway could then only make 142, with the wickets shared.
Terenure 5 vs Adamstown 8 - No preview, as previous matches this season involving at least one of these teams still to be processed.
Merrion 5 vs North Kildare 4 - No preview, as previous matches this season involving at least one of these teams still to be processed.
Clontarf 5 vs Malahide 4 - Group A of the Intermediate Cup is looking like a really tight affair, although Railway Union 4 look to be in the stronger position, being unbeaten after two matches. Malahide 4's run of wins over Clontarf 5 now stretches to three games, with a win last weekend adding to two in 2022. Last week saw a brilliant performance from Prince Paulson who scored his first century (115*) in Leinster cricket in his 59th match. It was the third highest score for Malahide 4 and the highest for them in T20 cricket. It was also the highest score in the Intermediate Cup, since it became a T20 competition.
Balbriggan 4 vs Greystones 3 - Greystones play their second game of the weekend, against a Balbriggan side who have had two Russell Court Trophy matches rained off along with a loss to Terenure 4. In the only match between the sides in Balbriggan (in Sept 2019), the home side were bowled out for 132, with Greystones knocking it off in 31.2 overs, to win by 5 wickets. Amkela Nontso is Balbriggan 4's leading run scorer this year with 126 runs at 42, with their leading wicket taker being Ryan Keenan with 7 wickets at 12. Rob Massey leads the way for Greystones 3 with 160 runs at 40, with their leading wicket taker being Bibin Varghese with 6 at 24.33.
