Rush W1 vs North Kildare W1 - No preview as waiting on scorecards of multiple Division 2 scorecards
Terenure 4 vs Carlow 2 - The final of the 2023 Ed Sports Russell Court Trophy, between Division 15's Carlow 2 and Terenure 4 of Division 16. Carlow 2 will be looking for their first ever trophy, with Terenure looking to follow on from their 2021 season, when they won a Division 17 and Adamstown Cup double. Terenure 4 are only on their third ever league season, but if they finish in their current fourth place in Division 17, it will be their highest ever finish. Similarly, Carlow are having their best ever league season, currently on top of Division 15 in their 7th season. It must be said that Terenure's Russell Court Season has been fairly uninspiring - they only played three matches on the field (out of six) winning all three, before beating Naas 2 in a semi final bowl out. Jaspal Singh has been Carlow's star with the bat with 126 runs at 42, and with the ball look out for Muhammad Irfan who has taken 8 wickets at 10.63 in the competition.
Balbriggan 1 vs Railway Union 1 - Time is very nearly up for Railway Union in the Premier League. The best they can now do is to make the Play Off spot but still have to make up 27 points on The Hills just to do that. Even a win today won't be enough if The Hills also beat Malahide at home. For Balbriggan, the title is still all to play for. They are 8 points behind leaders Leinster and 3 points behind YMCA in second place, so all they can do is win their last two games with as many bonus points as possible and hope. They host Clontarf in their last match. The sides have met four times in Senior matches in Balbriggan - all in the Championship between 2017 and 2021. Balbriggan have won three, but Railway won last time out in July 2021. Connor Fletcher hit 71 as Balbriggan got to 141/1 before Brigg lost nine wickets for 29 runs, with Mark Canniffe taking 4-14, his career best senior figures in 17 matches. It wasn't easy for Railway but 40 from Phillipe le Roux and 49 from Prabanshu Kamal got them over the line to win by 1 wicket with three balls to spare (Dylan Lues took 4-29). It was only Balbriggan's second ever senior one wicket loss (the first was to Merrion 2 in August 2013).
Merrion 1 vs Leinster 1 - Virtually a dead match for Merrion in the Premier League which isn't always the worst thing in a league that is always tight. Leinster have it all to play for though - leading the league with two games to play, but probably having to play both to lift the title. They are away to Railway Union in their last game. All though the league looks tight, they could win the Premier League today if YMCA and Balbriggan both lost, and Leinster won with enough bonus points. History isn't really on Leinster's side today. Since 1994, they have only won three senior matches in Anglesea Road, the last of which was in August 2012 (and all by very small margins). In that match, Leinster cobbled together 201 all out, With Joel Leacock scoring 43 and Hugh Mac Donnell 40. It proved to be 5 runs too many, as despite John Anderson's 89, an all round bowling effort saw Leinster win - just. It was their third narrowest win by runs in Anglesea Road - the other two also coming this century - by 1 run in 2010 and 2 runs in 2005.
YMCA 1 vs Clontarf 1 - Two home matches to finish the season for YMCA 1, as they attempt to set up their first league title since 2014. It seems likely that at least one of YMCA, Leinster and Balbriggan will win both of their remaining games, so that is what YM have to aim for - YMCA needing to make up a five point gap to leaders Leinster. Clontarf would have a chance if all three of those slip up, but it seems unlikely. Of course if Clontarf win today, they can catch YMCA and they play Balbriggan in the last game. They just need Leinster to slip up as well. This will be the 75th match between the teams in Claremont Road, and YMCA have not had a win since June 2015. Stephen Moreton (77 from 120 balls) and Eoghan Delany (77* from 58) added 115 for the fourth wicket as Tarf made 246/4 with Bobby Gamble taking 3-40. Simi Singh made 107 (one of his 12 senior hundreds for YMCA, placing him third on the all time list below Angus Dunlop (19) and Alan Lewis (16)), but when he was dismissed, YM were on 196/8. But Gamble, JJ Cassidy, Yaqoob Ali and Padriac Flanagan cobbled together the runs, with Flanagan and Cassidy adding 30 for the last wicket to win it be one wicket. Joe Morrissey took 5-74 - his last five wicket haul in senior cricket.
The Hills 1 vs Malahide 1 - For Malahide, a dead Premier League match, but for The Hills this one is vital. They are 29 points behind Merrion and play them in the in the last game of the season. A win today and a loss for Merrion would give The Hills the chance to escape the play off next week. But a loss today for The Hills closes that door, and if Railway were to beat Balbriggan today, would set up a nervy match next week. This has been a balanced fixture during the years, with The Hills winning 13 and Malahide 12, The last league match was in July 2021, which saw a big 187 run win for Malahide. Callum Riches made 140 and Matthew Ford 109 adding 210 for the third wicket. It was Riches' third senior hundred (and the highest of them) and Malahide's highest ever score against The Hills. Chasing such a large target was always going to be tough, and Andrew Kavanagh and Cormac McLoughlin-Gavin's 29s were the top scores with six bowlers taking wickets for Malahide. It was The Hills biggest ever loss bu runs in senior cricket.
Phoenix 1 vs Terenure 1 - Phoenix's form in the second half of the season has been decent, not losing since July 8 but they still have to keep winning. With Pembroke playing Rush, a Pembroke win will mean Phoenix are in the play off spot should they also win. If Rush were to win as well as Phoenix, Phoenix could only be 10 points behind Pembroke going into the last game. A Phoenix loss coupled with a Rush win would mean problems for Phoenix. For Terenure, this is very much a dead match. There hasn't been a senior match between these two sides in Phoenix since June 2016 in a Leinster Senior Cup match. Sam Anderson made 171, and with 50s from Reinhardt Strydom (65) and Matthew Scott (62*), Phoenix made 394/5 from their 60 overs - their highest ever senior total. Tom Anders then took 4-16 and Strydom 4-13 as Terenure collapsed to 130 all out.
Pembroke 1 vs Rush 1 - A Pembroke win today will be enough to see them crowned Championship champions of 2023. A loss and it will roll over for next week. Rush are up against it but a win today coupled with a Phoenix loss would set it up nicely for next week. History is very much on Pembroke's side. Rush won their first senor match in Sydney Parade in August 1997, but then lost the next six, winning again in July 2010 - before losing the three matches since then. The 2010 game was a low scoring affair. Saadat Gull made 56* for Rush, but 3-35 from Paul Lawson restricted Rush to 143 all out. At 40-0, things were looking rosy for Pembroke before Lynal Jansen (5-14) and Alan Butterly (5-33) combined to bowl Pembroke out for 76.
North County 1 vs North Kildare 1 - North County are safely mid table, and a win or two should enable them to keep 4th spot, finishing in 12th place in the league for the third year in a row. North Kildare need a miracle to move from the bottom of the league, but with Balbriggan 2 and The Hills 2 finishing at the top of Division 4, it doesn't look as if there will be any relegation from the Championship. The only previous meeting between the teams in Inch went the way of North Kildare in a famous 151 run win. Monil Patel top scored with 78 as North Kildare made 228. But the star of the show was to be Muzamil Sherzad who took 6-24 to dismiss County for 77. That was Sherzad's career best figures so far and the best senior bowling by a North Kildare player in an away match (their best overall is Abdul Sattar's 7-14 at home to Cork Harlequins in June 2022)
Civil Service 1 vs Cork County 1 - As noted above, there looks like being no relegation from the Championship this year so Civil Service are safe. But the season has been better than that as they have their highest league finish since losing senior status in the 1940s. A win for Cork County will keep them in 14th place in the league, but a loss will drop them to 15th place below Service - County's same finishing position as 2022. The only previous senior meeting between these two was the reverse fixture on June 17 this year. Solid batting all the way down was topped by Abubakar Saddique's 60. At the time it was his third senior 50 and first since June 2017 - he has since added another one against Rush. Mubasher Siddique took 4-38 (his best senior figures) as County were restricted to 250/8. The Service reply was over before it really began, as Byron McDonough took 4-21 and reduced Service to 33/4. Mubasher Siddique completed a fine game with 39 and Vivekanandan Srinivasan (22) and Rohith Gunaseelan (27) added 44 for the last wicket, but Service finished 58 runs short.
Wexford Wanderers 1 vs Cork Harlequins 1 - No preview as waiting for scorecard of Cork Harlequins 1 vs Wexford Wanderers 1 (August 26)
The Hills 5 vs Pembroke 6 - Pembroke still have four games to play in the Development League/Division 20, and will take the title with four wins. The Hills have three remaining and are nine points ahead of Pembroke in third place. They will be well placed - especially with a win today. Last year's match was the only time the pair have met. Max Stead took 3-8 from 6 overs as Pembroke were bowled out for 82, Aryan Mulajker top scoring for Pembroke with 16. The Hills won by 7 wickets with ease, Conor Donoghue top scoring with 22.
Athlone 2 vs Civil Service 5 - Carlow 2's win over Clontarf last week was enough for them to be crowned as Division 15 champions for 2023. Athlone are nearly confirmed as the team to be promoted along with Carlow - a win today is needed to make it mathematically certain. Civil Service are down in 7th, but still have four matches left to save their season. They may need to win two of those four to preserve their Division 15 status. The only previous match between the teams was a few weeks back on July 29. Nishanth Ramdass top scored for Athlone with 25* batting at number 10, but there were enough batters contributing for Athlone to get to 180 all out, Muhammad Waqas Afridi taking 3-32 for Service. Civil Service found the going extremely tough from the start, collapsing to 40/6. Swapnil Ingle scored 37* batting at number 6 to give some respectability to the score, before Nishanth Ramdass took the last three wickets to fall, ending with 3-30 as Service were bowled out for 118.
Slieve Bloom 1 vs Leinster 5 - Leinster are out of the running for promotion from Division 14, but still have an outside chance of relegation - especially with North County 5 having five games left. One more win from their two remaining games should make them safe. Slieve Bloom have had a roller coaster of a season and still have a tiny chance of being promoted, as well as a small chance of relegation. With three games left, one more win will make them safe, but in reality they will be happy with their mid-table position. The teams have never completed a Slieve Bloom home league game, with the last league game at any venue being in Observatory Lane in May 2016 in Division 10. Abdullah Rana took 4-20 for Bloom as Leinster could only make 120 all out, Syamlal Syamnivas top scoring for Leinster with 44. Bloom struggled though, and at 102/8 looked to be out on their feet. Waqas Khalid's 43 was key in getting Leinster to that position, but it needed Neil Myers (11) and Mick Schnackenberg (7) to get them over the line for a 2 wicket win
Kilkenny 2 vs Balbriggan 4 - Fourth hosts third in Division 17, but in reality the promotion chances of these two teams have slipped by. Balbriggan could make second place if they won their last two games and Adamstown 7 lost all three of theirs. Kilkenny have a similar task, although they have four games remaining. Kilkenny could also do with one more win to confirm that they have avoided relegation, with only 48 points covering them in fourth from ninth place Phoenix 6. The last time the teams met in Castleblunden was in August 2022. Faizan Shah Afridi made 53* at number 8 as Kilkenny got to 252/7 from 40 overs. The star was Balbriggan's Fionn Bannister who took the first five wickets to fall to end with 5-30, his second five wicket haul for the club. Bannister's bowling was the highlight of the day for Balbriggan though, as Shanly Sebastian (3-18) and Faizan Shah Afridi (3-6) ripped through the Brigg batting to dismiss them for 77 - Bannister top scoring with 14. It was Kilkenny 2's highest ever win by runs, and Balbriggan's worst ever loss.
Clontarf 3 vs North Kildare 2 - Clontarf play their last game in Division 5 in a season they want to forget. They will be desperate to win their first league game against a North Kildare team who are only a couple of places above them in sixth. The second relegation spot is still up for grabs, with any team from North Kildare, Laois 1, Civil Service 2 and Rush 2 a possibility. North Kildare have three games left - one game should be enough to be safe, but two would be better. North Kildare have now won the last four matches between the teams, with three of those coming this year. In the league match on May 28, Manpreet Monty Singh's 85 was the main innings in North Kildare's 258/8. For Clontarf, only Rana Asad's 59 stood out, as Gulab Singh's 4-31 cleaned up the tail to bowl them out for 196.
Carlow 3 vs Merrion 7 - Merrion 7 are already relegated from Division 19. Carlow 3 are in fourth place with five games still to play. Promotion looks unlikely but is not impossible, and if they can win all five of their remaining games, they have a chance. The previous match between the teams was on May 28 this year and saw a big win for Merrion. Rory MacColl (51) and Sofiat Alam (91*) added 123 for the 2nd wicket (a Carlow 3 record for the 2nd wicket) as they made 233/6 with Merrion's Daniyal Ali taking 3-33. No Merrion batter got past 13 as they were dismissed for 72, Mohsin Hassan taking 3-8. It was Merrion 7's worst ever defeat by runs.
Wicklow County 1 vs Pembroke 4 - With Wicklow County already being relegated and Pembroke playing their last match, this is a dead rubber in Division 10. The side's last meeting in Bray in the league was a high scoring affair last August. There were Pembroke 50s for Brendan Ferres (66) and Sahil Manchanda (55) with Pembroke running up 307/7 - Pembroke 4's highest innings total away from Sydney Parade. Simran Singh's 3-52 was the pick for Wicklow County. Wicklow put up an excellent reply, with Singh scoring 58 and Nicky Fusco 83. But they ultimately came up 18 runs short on 289/6, their highest innings total at home on record.
Tyrrelstown 5 vs Castleknock 4 - Tyrrelstown are in 8th place in the nine team Division 19, but their fate is in the hands of Leinster 6 who still have four games left. All Tyrrelstown can do it to try and win today, and then hope Leinster have a very bad end to the season. Castleknock are safely mid-table and can sit back and enjoy today's match. These are another pair of teams who have only met once in their history - in this instance on June 5 this year. After getting to 29-0 , Castleknock would have been relatively confident, before a mid-order collapse saw them slip to 68/7. Late order resistance from Muhammad Safi (24), Ali Haider (19) and Abdur Rahman Shaikh (16) got them to 166/9. That was to prove enough, as only Nithish Kumar Duda got past 20 (32 from number 9) as Tyrrelstown were bowled out for 126, Nadeem Muhammad taking 3-23.
Mullingar 1 vs Railway Union 3 - Mullingar play their last match in Division 6 today and still have an outside chance of promotion. They need to win today, but more importantly hope that Terenure lose all three of their remaining games. Terenure play Clontarf, Longford and Pembroke, so whilst losing all three is unlikely, it is not impossible. Railway also play their last game and aren't safe from relegation, with only three points separating them from Leinster in 7th spot. They need to win today and hope Leinster don't win both of their remaining matches (against Longford and Carlow). Railway's last win in Mullingar in the league was back in 2017. Railway made 135/9 from a rain reduced 30 overs with Ciarán Kenny top scoring with 40. The match developed into a nip and tuck cagey affair, with neither side on top. At 95/3 Mullingar would have fancied their chances, but Cavon Hall's dismissal for 18 started a collapse, and they tumbled to 111/8. Craig Sweeney hit 14, but the last pair of PJ Mount and Irfan Qasim couldn't quite get them over the line, Railway winning by 1 run. It is Mullingar 1's only 1 run loss we have on record, and the last of Railway Union 3's one run wins - five between 2011 and 2017 and none since.
Gorey 1 vs Finglas 2 - Gorey 1's rained off match against North Kildare last week was enough to condemn them to Division 14 cricket next year, a league they last played in in 2018. Finglas can still just about lift the title, but will need to win their remaining matches and hope that Dundalk 1 and Wexford Wanderers lose all theirs. The teams have never met before, so a quick look at their players to watch. Gorey's leading run scorer is Mohamed Aazeer Ahamed Lebbe with 203 runs at 22.56, with their leading wicket taker being Mohammed Shifan Hameed Raheem with 17 wickets at 13.82. For Finglas, top with the ball is Iksheer Mangattuchalil with 15 wickets at 12 with their top run scorer also being Mangattuchalil with 258 runs at 64.50.
Clondalkin 3 vs Wexford Wanderers 3 - No preview as waiting for scorecard of North Kildare 6 vs Clondalkin 3 (June 11)
DLR County 1 vs Bagenalstown 1 - DLR County still have a very slim hope of promotion from Division 8, but need to win today and hope North County 3 manage to lose their last four matches, and Knockharley don't win any of their last three. A win for DLR today will make them mathematically safe from relegation. Bagenalstown have had a season to forget and are already relegated. DLR County have won each of the previous three matches between the teams - all of which were played in Bagenalstown's McGrath Park. This year's reverse league fixture on May 6 saw DLR County make 219/6, the only team to pass 200 at the venue this year. Chiraag Arora was key, scoring 74* with Prasad Rudrappa Shivu adding 44. As they have done all season, Bagenalstown's batting struggled, in particular against Ghanshyam Godara (3-33) and Prasad Rudrappa Shivu (3-20) as they were bowled out for 106.
Dundalk 2 vs Leinster 6 - Dundalk lie in second place in Division 19 with four games still to play. Win all four and they will be champions. At the other end of the table, Leinster are in eighth place in the nine team division with three games remaining. Two wins should be enough for them to get to safety. This season's league game (in Observatory Lane) went the way of Dundalk - by 10 wickets. Liam Masterson top scored for Leinster with 28, but 4-44 from Sonu Kattuvalli Punnoose (his best bowling in the eight Cricket Leinster matches he has played) saw Leinster bowled out for 90. Jithin John (67) and Michael Hughes (18) then knocked off the runs in 10.1 overs for the loss no wickets. It was Dundalk 2's first ever 10 wicket win (they repeated the trick two weeks later against Kilkenny 3).
Adamstown 7 vs Naas 2 - Twelve points is all Adamstown need today to confirm promotion from Division 17, as well as being the province's strongest 7th team for the third year in a row. Naas recorded two wins in August, and that has lifted them out of the relegation zone. But it is so tight at the bottom, and they may still need a couple of wins from their last three matches to guarantee safety. The one previous meeting between the teams was a September 2021 league game, which Naas dominated, winning by 10 wickets. Umar Farooq top scored for Adamstown with 43 but all the Naas bowlers contributed with wickets as Adamstown were bowled out for 112. Ankur Baliyan (38) and Nirmal Kandwal (45) then knocked off the runs in 18 overs. It was Naas 2's highest ever opening partnership.
Swords 1 vs Knockharley 2 - Another end of season thriller in Division 8. Swords have two games remaining, but are down in 7th place. They are probably going to have to win both of their remaining games a tough ask as they are against the 2nd and 3rd place sides. Knockharley have three to play and are probably going to have to win all three - and hope North County 3 slip up in one of their remaining four. All should be clearer after this weekend. Swords last win in a home league match against Knockharley was all the way back in May 2018. Rajesh Adi top scored for Knockharley with 39, but Shibu Vezhakkattu's 3-21 kept Knockharley down to 158 all out. That proved to be not nearly enough as Ebin Paiva hit 68, one of 25 times he has passed 50 for Swords. Paiva is the club's leading all time run scorer with 3801 runs at 32.49. Swords won by 7 wickets with 15 overs to spare.
North Kildare 5 vs Halverstown 1 - North Kildare 5 are still struggling in Division 13, down in 7th place. With three games to go, they need to make up 24 points on sixth place Adamstown 5 and probably need to win at least two of the three. A win today will mean that Halverstown are mathematically safe from relegation. In a 30 over game played on August 5th, Halverstown made 134/9 with Kevin Threadgold scoring 29, and five others getting to double figures without going on to twenty. Surinder Joshi took 4-35 for North Kildare, his second four wicket haul of the season. The North Kildare innings went in a similar way - with four players getting past 10 but not past 25. The difference between the sides was probably Ankur Yadav's 44* which was enough to see North Kildare home by 3 wickets. For Halverstown, Andy Wordley took 4-45 from 6 overs, his best bowling in a 52 match career for Civil Service, Clontarf and Halverstown.
Railway Union 5 vs Tyrrelstown 4 - Mathematically, Railway Union still have a chance of promotion from Division 15, but it requires Athlone 2 to lose their last two games and Railway to win all theirs. Tyrrelstown are still stuck in a dog fight to avoid relegation. They currently have a 13 point lead over Civil Service 5 in 7th, but have played one game extra. It looks like they will need at least one more win from their last two games - perhaps even two. The one previous league game between the teams was on April 15 this year. The Railway total of 164 all out was built around a fourth wicket stand of 98 between Nripendra Pratap Singh (48) and Maninderjit Ghai (62). But from 148/3, Railway collapsed to 164 all out with Srini Balasubramaniyam taking 4-24, his best bowling in the three games he has played for Tyrrelstown. It was a similar story for Tyrrelstown, who got to 96/3 before falling over as the finishing line was in sight, losing their last seven wickets for 46. Ganesh Upadhyay took 3-36 for Railway with Deepak Tripathi top scoring with 38 for Tyrrelstown.
Knockharley 3 vs Swords 3 - Still a long way to go in the nine team Division 16. Knockharley have two games to go, and it looks as if they are going to have to win both to have any chance of relegation survival. They play Adamstown 6 in their last game. Swords still have four games to play and technically could still finish in the runners up position in the league, as well as having an outside chance of being relegated. All should be clearer after this weekend. Muhammad Tahir Rasheed is the team's leading run scorer for the year (as well as being the second highest run scorer for Knockharley post 2010) with 307 runs at 51.17. Aabis Mirza is the team's top wicket taker with 23 wickets at 14.26. For Swords 3, Farooq Hussain leads the way with the bat with 308 runs at 23.69, whilst their leading wicket taker is Anoop Varghese with 18 wickets at 12.06.
Castleknock 2 vs Adamstown 3 - These two play their last games of the Divison 9 season, and the equation is simple. Whoever loses is relegated to Division 10 (a tie or a rained off match would send down Castleknock). The last league match between the teams in Porterstown was in June 2018. The Castleknock innings went in spits and spurts - 36/6 became 102/8 became 144 all out. Raj Kumar Mahanti took 4-24 for Adamstown with Chandar Lal top scoring with 49 for Castleknock. Yet another collapse sent Adamstown to 28/6 before Sunny Sehrawat's 29* gave them some hope. It wasn't to be though, as Adamstown were bowled out for 114.
Lucan 3 vs Phoenix 6 - Three games left for Lucan 3 in Division 17 - they are virtually safe from relegation but could do with one more win to confirm it. Two rained off matches last week for Phoenix probably helped them a bit, but they now need wins on the field. They must win two of their last three, but probably need to win all three. Their only previous match was on August 7 this year in Castleknock College. Phoenix were always struggling, but a spell of 6-7 from 2.3 overs by Anuj Kumar Sharma finished them off for a total of 66. It was the best ever bowling analysis for Lucan 3, and the second best for the Lucan club, after Jatinder Kumar's 7-14 in May 2018 against Bagenalstown 2. Lucan's reply was not that easy, although the openers Annu Shukla (17) and Ajay Saraf (28) knocked off most of the runs at the top of the order. Michael Delaney then took a quick 3-22 as Lucan got home by 5 wickets in 14 overs.
Greystones 1 vs Phoenix 3 - Two teams battling at opposite ends of the Division 7 table. Greystones are in second place with two games remaining. Even if Greystones win both of their matches, they may still be behind Castleknock who play Phoenix in their last game. Behind Greystones, Tyrrelstown still have four games to play, so all Greystones can do is to win their last two and cross their fingers. The bottom of the league is unbearably tight, but Phoenix may have to win two games to be safe. To have to win seven games to avoid relegation is both rare and cruel. This year's match on July 22 was the only time the teams have met in the league. Travis Stringer's 43* was the only highlight for Phoenix as Ramayya Botcha 4-25 ensured Phoenix only made 105 all out. That was easy pickings for Greystones, with Gourav Arya (38) and Michael Kirk (47) romping home for a 9 wicket win with only 19 overs bowled.
Sandyford 2 vs Adamstown 4 - No preview as waiting for scorecard of Terenure 3 vs Mullingar 2 (August 26)
Malahide 4 vs Clontarf 5 - Malahide play their last game in Division 10 for 2023 and it is very much a dead match, although they could finish anywhere between 3rd and 6th. Clontarf are also relegated, so this match is purely for the sake of enjoyment - no bad thing at the end of a season. These two had not met until 2019, but have made up for it since, playing ten times, with Malahide winning seven. Clontarf's three wins all came in the league, the last in April 2022. At 48/5 it didn't look promising for Clontarf, but lower order runs for Ali Shah (28), Tariq Hussain (24), Shahzad Mustafa (37) and Vishwajeet Vibhute (20) saw them recover to 151 all out, Prince Paulson the pick of the Malahide bowlers with 3/9. Matthew Lanngan hit 21 at the top of the order as Malahide reached 39/0, but that soon became 50/5 as Akkshai Chand took 4/26. Kapil Mohan made 36 but it was too late and Clontarf won by 28 runs.
Ashbourne 2 vs North County 5 - A crucial game at the bottom of Division 14, but with North County still having five games to play, it is too early to make firm predictions. If North County were to win all five games, promotion is still possible with it being a similar story for Ashbourne, who could move up to third if they won their three remaining matches. In reality, both teams could do with one or two more matches to ensure their safety. The side's only previous league match was on August 19, when Ashbourne won by 11 runs. No one scored more than Nitesh Agrawal's 25 (batting at number 10) but there were enough contributions throughout the order for Ashbourne to get to 168 all out. Doran Ayub took 3-24 for North County. Vikas Panse then took 5-31 for Ashbourne (his second five wicket haul for Ashbourne 2), and despite Foram Mehta's ninth 50 for North County (since 2010), County fell 11 runs short.
Terenure 3 vs North County 4 - No preview as waiting for scorecard of Terenure 3 vs Mullingar 2 (August 26)
