The Leinster Under 13s again defeated their Northern counterparts by 55 runs yesterday to extend themselves into a 2-0 lead in the four-match series.
The game at Pirrie Park saw a solid batting effort from the Leinster side, as they compiled a score of 167 with Knockharley's Lorcan Craik (37), Balbriggan's Brian Dunphy (27), Yousaf Shah (25) of Phoenix, and 'Tarf man Ethan Marshall (18) the main contributors.
The bright light for their opposition was Jacob McKeown, who took four wickets for nine runs.
In the chase Luca Bates' tidy 43 looked to have given the NCU hopes of a major upset, but again the Northern side fell to Leinster's leg-spin, as Pembroke's Raif Duncan took three wickets and played an instrumental role in sealing the 55-run win.
The two sides do battle again in the third game of the series today in Pirrie Park, before returning to Dublin for the fourth and final game on Friday, where they will clash in Ringcommons for the second time this week.
