A highly successful coaching workshop was run at Mount Anville school recently with 13 Leinster based PE teachers attending.
The course itself concentrated on basic techniques along with small-sided games that can be easily delivered within schools or sports halls. Many of the PE teachers were new to the game and gained valuable knowledge in the different techniques involved in cricket and also gained some useful ideas regarding games for use with their own students in the coming weeks.
These courses are part of a series of workshops being delivered by Leinster staff in various parts of Dublin during the March and April period. To date they have been run at Tallaght, Corduff and Mount Anville school while in the coming weeks courses will be run at North County CC (April 9th), Coolock (April 30th) and Irishtown (May 7th).
Leinster tutors who delivered sessions and provided assistance at Mount Anville included Fintan McAllister, Reinhardt Strydom, Kenny Carroll, Inge Bevers, Naomi Scott-Haywood, Colm Mooney and Caoilfhionn Rowan.
PE teachers in attendance included:
Jill Condell & Eoghan Keegan (High School), Niall Denham & Sara Rose (St Gerard’s), Robert Quinlan (CUS), Niall Hughes (Rockbrook school) , Mags Downey (Newpark), Aaron Copeland & Alison Bennett (Wesley) David Donnelly & Louise Daly (Mount Anville) and Anna Callaghan (Muckross Park school).
