A highly successful coaching workshop was run at Mount Anville school, Goatstown yesterday with 17 Leinster based PE teachers attending.
The course itself concentrated on basic techniques along with small-sided games that can be easily delivered within schools or sports halls. Many of the PE teachers were new to the game and gained valuable knowledge in the different techniques involved in cricket and also gained some useful ideas regarding games for use with their own students in the coming weeks.
These courses are part of a series of workshops being delivered by Leinster staff in various parts of Dublin during the March and April period.
Leinster tutors who delivered sessions and provided assistance at Mt Anville included Brian O’Rourke, Fintan McAllister, Amy Kenealy, Reinhardt Strydom, Kenny Carroll, Peter Thew, Caoilfhionn Rowan & Peter Searson.
Teachers in attendance included:
Castleknock College (Declan McDevitt), High School (Sallie Ennis & Sarah Gray), Muckross Park (Aisling Murray), Rockbrook Park (Niall Hughes), St. Andrew's College (Hannah Leggett), St. Columba's College (Stephanie Brann, Tristan Clarke, Jody Hosking & Harry Morris), St. Declan's, Cabra (Rebecca Strain), St. Gerard's College, Bray (Marc Caraher & Julie McInerney), St. Peter's College, Dunboyne (Shay O'Reilly), Temple Carrig, Greystones (Terry Brock & Carol Fitzroy), Wesley College (Louise Tallon).
