As we get closer to the end of the season the uncertainties around the destination of trophies and promotion and relegation are starting to resolve themselves. But there is still plenty to be decided.
This weekend may well resolve matters relating to RCD1 and RCD2. If Leinster win against North County then the title is theirs. If not it goes to the following weekend and the winner of the match between The Hills v Clontarf. Pembroke will probably need to beat YMCA to ensure that they stay above Phoenix [who would still have to beat Cork]. Whether this has any relevance depends on Malahide winning at home v Balbriggan to force a play-off. The RCD2 title has already been secured by Merrion who, at this point, are the only team to go through the full league season unbeaten. AIB, in D14, are also unbeaten but have two matches to play.
One the teams that lost their unbeaten status recently is Leinster II in D3. But they are still comfortably clear at the top, but with still five matches to play. At the other end of the table Clontarf II are making a break for freedom [or at least to stay in D3]. Two recent wins has moved them off the bottom and they have plenty of matches in hand to chase down YMCA II or even Phoenix II. Avoiding the bottom spot may be all that is needed as Merrion III have already taken one of the promotion spots in D3].
While Merrion III are confirmed in one of the top two place, they still have some work to do to win the league. They probably just need to win one of their remaining two games - North County who are third still have four games to play. Phoenix III look to be marooned at the bottom of the table and Civil Service [in 7th] also have some distance to make up on Railway U II.
Nothing decided in D5 where Clontarf III and YMCA III are battling it out for top spot. Longford, who led the league for much of the season, are also not out of it. Leinster III are relegated and Merrion IV, who have lost four games since winning the Middle Cup, are also now in trouble and it looks to be between them and Greystones for the second relegation spot.
In D6 Castleknock remain in poll position but they are being challenged by a late run from Rush II who have moved up two places to go ahead of Mullingar. Sandyford are definitely in the bottom two and will be joined by Terenure unless they [Terenure] can win both of their remaining games to get above Merrion V who have finished their season.
Bagenalstown have strengthened their hold on D7 and have a sizeable lead with three matches to play. North Kildare II have moved into second place. At the other end of the table North County III are confirmed in the bottom two and will likely be joined there by Laois II, who have a lot of work to do to make up the gap on YMCA IV.
D8 may be the most open league in the OC with four teams within four percentage points of each other. Clontarf IV are the new leaders, but Adamstown II, Swords and Pembroke IV are all in with a shout of the title. Leinster IV are confirmed in bottom two.
Dublin University II won this league a long time ago - and Wicklow look to be in a good position to secure the second spot as Carlow have fallen away. But nothing is decided. Civil Service II are stranded at the bottom of the seven team league.
Dundalk and Greystones II are neck and neck in D11 with Cabinteely and Adamstown at the bottom and running out of matches.
Merrion VI’s lead in D11 has been gradually whittled away by Ashbourne until there is nothing between the teams and it all goes down to the last game. If Merrion win the title is theirs. If not then it is up to Ashbourne to win. Terenure III confirmed in bottom two, with Rush III in danger of joining them.
Balbriggan III are still well out in front in D12 and it is difficult seeing anyone catching them. Sandyford II are the main challengers. Phoenix V have run out of time but North County IV still have matches in hand and could stage a recovery.
Halverstown and Bagenalstown II are out in front in D13. Halverstown have the lead but there are plenty of matches still to play. Dublin University III are stuck at the bottom.
All settled in D14 - AIB have wrapped up the title, Adamstown IV are in second spot and Railway V last.
Tyrrelstown may still have to wait a bit but they are well in control of D15 - with Knockharley III and North Kildare IV battling it out for second place. Mullingar III have a lot to so to get off the bottom.
And finally, it is a very tight contest in D16 with Bagenalstown II [current leaders], taking advantage of poor late season form from Clondalkin who drop to third place behind Leinster VI.
