Below are the details regarding the upcoming October 'Coaching Kids 5-11 years' 1-day course and the 'Coaching Cricket' 2-day course. DESCRIPTION
The Coaching Kids 5-11 years course is aimed at parents, teachers, and young adults supporting cricketers aged 5-11 years. The course is designed to provide new and emerging coaches with the knowledge and skills to deliver child-centred, safe, fun, and age-appropriate coaching sessions.
Date and Time: Sun 13 Oct 2019 9:45 am - 4:30 pm
Venue: Castleknock College, Dublin 15
Cost: €50pp
Applicants must be Aged 14 or over on the date of completing the course.
There are limited places, however, we intend on running more of these courses after Christmas.

DESCRIPTION
The Coaching Cricket course is aimed at emerging coaches supporting club and school cricketers aged 11 years and over. The course will build on your existing skills and knowledge by providing you with multiple opportunities to coach and get feedback from experienced coach developers. There is a practical assessment at the end of the course on Day 2.
Date and Time: Sun 19 & 20 Oct 2019 9:45 am - 4:30 pm each day
Venue: Castleknock College, Dublin 15
Cost: €95pp
Applicants must be Aged 18 or over on the date of completing the course.
There are limited places, however, we intend on running more of these courses after Christmas.
The next step after this course would be the Level 2 course. The Level 2 applications closed on September 15th. It is a nationally run course, by Cricket Ireland, which is run once a year. The next available course will be in October/November 2020, with applications opening in August/September 2020.
Do you have to have Garda Vetting to be able to complete these courses?
Yes, to be certified you must have Garda Vetting. You can still complete the course and then receive your certificate once you have received confirmation of successful Garda Vetting. Legally all coaches must be Garda Vetted to be able to coach children. The only exception is U16s who can not get Garda Vetted. If aged 16 or 17 you can still be Garda Vetted, however an additional form must be filled out by your parents.
Do you have to have Safeguarding 1 or above course completed to be able to attend these courses?
Yes, to be certified you must have Safeguarding 1. You can still complete the course and then receive your certificate once you have completed a Safeguarding 1 course. Legally all coaches must now have completed a Safeguarding 1 course to be able to coach children. The only exception is U18s who can not do these courses.
What course is equivalent to a level 1 qualification? The 2-day Coaching Cricket course precedes the Level 2 course. There is no level 1 course anymore.
