Oliver Plunkett’s NS from Malahide obtained their 2nd victory in the 'Blue Insurance' Leprechaun Cup when beating competition debutantes Howth Road NS at a sunny Malahide cricket club today.
The final was the last in a series of games played around Leinster over the past twelve weeks and marked the 11th season of this most successful Primary schools, development competition.
The Leprechaun Cup continues to be the flagship for cricket development in Leinster with many new schoolchildren now being given the opportunity to play hardball cricket during their primary school years. Running parallel with the Leprechaun Cup this year was the Super League, the 4th Class Cup and also the Fingal Cup for girls.
To present the trophy (sponsored by the Leprechaun’s CC) were Cricket Leinster President Derek Dockrell and Leprechaun’s member Alan Smith.
