Ongar Cricket Club officially unveiled their new playing kit for participation in Cricket Leinster League & T20 competitions during the 2023 season.
This is the club’s first ever season in CL competitions.
The launch event was attended by over 250 people in the presence of An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar T.D., CL President, Pat Banahan, Minister of Children & Youth Affairs, Roderic O’Gorman T.D., Minister of State at thd Department of Environment, Climate & Communications, Jack Chambers T.D., Senator Emer Currie, Councillors Tom Kitt and Kieran Dennison.
CL President (Pat Banahan) was also accompanied by CL Fingal Development Officer (Brían O’Rourke).
Arun Katheri, Chair of Ongar CC welcomed and thanked all guests which was then followed by short speech of support from each of the dignitaries.
An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar T.D. revealed the Official Club Kit via a remote-controlled curtain opener & a countdown from all present.
The T20 Jersey is a prominent and bright ‘yellow’. All the dignitaries signed on the newly unveiled club kit.
An Taoiseach presented mementos to all the club sponsors whilst the CL President (Pat) handing over mementos to all the dignitaries including An Taoiseach.
Pat Banahan and Minister Roderick O’Gorman handed over hats and playing kit to each of the club players which was followed by photoshoot with all club members and dignitaries.
At the conclusion of the event, all guests participated in some fun cricket where they batted against the bowling of the ever-Green Brían O’Rourke!
This brought lot of cheer at the venue especially when he trapped the CL President LBW!
