In D5 Pembroke are in the lead with 72% but they could still be caught by Railway III [65%] or Merrion III [62%]. There are still plenty of matches left to play and even Clontarf III [52%] are still in contention but would have to win three of their last four games and for other results to go their way. Pembroke have to play both Railway U and Merrion so have the tougher run in, but equally have it in their own hands to bury their rivals. Phoenix III and North County III look most likely to go down but Terenure IIs, with three matches to play, are still not safe.
Laois II, Dundrum and Civil Service II are battling it out for D6 [with Rush II having an outside chance of getting into the promotion places]. Merrion IV [who have yet to win a match this season] and The Hills look certain for demotion, though Merrion will be comforted by the performance of their 5ths who have won D7.
Merrion VIIs are the only team who have won a league at this stage of the season, despite losing their last two matches. YMCA IIIs, Bagenalstown and Knockharley are all in the hunt for the second promotion spot in D7 and the matches between Bagenalstown and YMCA this weekend and Knockharley and Bagenalstown next weekend will have a major bearing on second place. Malahide IVs, despite winning three games, are more than 10% points off the pace at the bottom of the table and look like going down. Wexford Wanderers, North Kildare and Leinster IVs are all fighting to survive within a couple of percentage points of each other, but might be reprieved if Leinster achieve promotion from D8.
In D8 Pembroke IVs and Leinster V are well out in front but who will win the title is too close to call. At the bottom of the table Ireland Women and Dublin University II are both in trouble and it is unlikely that either will stay up.
