Although there will be 19 scheduled matches to play even after this weekend it is probably fair to say that most of the key title, promotion and relegation issues will decided over the next two days.
The main interest today is the Premier / D2 play-off between Leinster and Rush that is taking place at Inch. Start time 11.00
Having been denied a final day head to head in the Premier league Anglesea Roads tomorrow will see Merrion 2 and Pembroke 2 contend for the D3 title.
With the title [Railway Union 2] and runners-up [Malahide 2] decided for D4, interest turns to the relegation battle. Four teams are fighting to avoid the second relegation spot - Merrion 3, DLR County, Civil Service and Knockharley. Knockharley have a very narrow path to survival that requires them winning their two remaining games, Merrion losing to Malahide today and a no result between Merrion and DLR next week. Civil Service, who have completed their programme, are also looking vulnerable. Both Merrion and DLR can overtake them if they can win one of their outstanding games. Today Merrion take on Malahide and Knockharley play DLR.
There is still plenty to play for in title race in D6. With two games remaining there are three teams in contention. Leinster 3 are lying third and need to win both games to even have a chance. Mullingar [2nd] are playing Leinster today so a lot rides on the result. Wexford, who play Bagenalstown tomorrow, have a narrow lead and need to keep wining to guarantee the title. This Division will require the final weekend to sort out the top placings. With no re-fixes scheduled [and unlikely to be needed] is looking like Terenure 2 for the second relegation spot. Merrion 5 are last.
In Division 7 Clontarf 4 take on Greystones today and if they win will secure the title. Adamstown could theoretically catch them but it would require winning today and, assuming Clontarf lose, refining another match. Greystones if they win today could get the second promotion spot if Adamstown lose tomorrow v DLR County 2. We should know more this evening.
Division 8. Top places sorted. The Hills 3 [v Knockharley 2] and Pembroke 4 [v Wicklow] are still fighting git out to avoid second relegation spot. Pembroke have the points advantage.
Clondalkin have completed their programme in D9 but must wait until next week to see if they have the title or whether Carlow can overtake them when they take on bottom team Dundalk. Everything else decided.
The only issue remaining to be decided in D10 is the second relegation spot. Adamstown 3 v Balbriggan 3 today could decide matters. But if Balbriggan win then Adamstown have another chance next week when they take on Mullingar 2. If they win that then Mullingar 2 would be relegated.
Merrion 6 have won D11 and second place is most likely Clontarf 5. But if Clontarf slip up today v Civil Service then Rush 3 could take advantage. But we would have to wait until next weekend to find out. It is looking like Civil Service 3 to join North Kildare 3 in relegation spots. Anything else would require a round of re-fixes that are not scheduled.
AIB have won D12 and halverstown are last. Matters are a bit confusing after that as unscheduled could matter. North County 4 [who play tomorrow] have a lot to do to overtake Merrion 7 [today]. Leinster 5 could overtake Lucan 2 and take second place.
Phoenix 5 play tomorrow [v Pembroke 5] and look well placed to take the title. Their only rival is Adamstown 4 who don’t have any more fixtures scheduled but could overtake the leaders. It will be clearer after tomorrow.
Gorey have won the title in D14 and Laois 3 are last. Wexford and Knockharley are playing Castleknock in games over the weekend. This should be enough to confirm Castleknock as runners up and the results should also determine which of the other two team go down.
Leinster have big lead in D15 and there are no more scheduled matches for leading teams after this weekend. It looks like Finglas are second. Carlow are last and if matters stand as they are North Kildare 4 will also go down.
Ringcommons 2 have a commanding lead in D16 but with a lot of results still to be approved they may need to wait a little longer for this to be confirmed. They play on the last day [23rd] but they will likely know beforehand that they have the title.
