All involved with the Open Competitions Committee would like to thank the players across Leinster for all their help in getting registered for the 2016 season, as well as coping with the new photo requirement.
Nearly 2000 players have now registered for Open Competitions this season, with over 1400 players succesfully uploading photos to their accounts, with 500 youth players who do not need photos. That leaves just under 100 adult players who have not yet successfully uploaded a photo to their account.
These players can be viewed here, and if your name is on the list, you are not registered, and cannot play cricket until your names is removed from the list.
If players change their photo, so that it no longer shows a recognisable likeness of them, they will be instantly deregistered, and further sanctions may apply.
The photos have been a great success so far. They can be used to confirm names when the scorebook doesn't quite show a name properly; they help welcome new members into clubs, where other players now can put a name to the face; and they help to foster a spirit of friendship across the province. Players are no longer just a name on s starring list.
The photos also help to put an end to players playing under the wrong name - or at least make it that much harder. However, this only happens very rarely.
You can access photos of any adult player in the Open Competitions by looking at our Player Search page.
