The pace of player registration continues to build towards the new season which is now just over seven weeks away.
The breakdown of the top 15 clubs (in terms of players registered) to-date is as follows:
1) Adamstown (180)
2) Malahide (105)
3) Tyrrelstown (104)
4) Leinster (100)
5) Merrion (92)
6) Phoenix (91)
7) The Hills (85)
8) Pembroke (82)
9) Clontarf (75)
10) Civil Service (72)
11) Finglas (61)
12) Castleknock (58)
13) Swords (57)
14) Sandyford (57)
15) North County (56)
It is encouraging to note that circa 12% of those registered to-date have signed up on our system for the first time this year.
There are also already over 700 youth players registered with all clubs encouraged to focus on youth development especially those clubs which are well established but have still not put a youth programme in-place.
The development of youth cricket is fundamental to the sustainability of all clubs.
Whilst it is still some weeks to go before the playing season starts, the number of female cricketers registered is already at 45% of that which was recorded in 2024 with Clontarf, Merrion, Leinster, Phoenix and Pembroke all with 25-30 players signed up.
