Pembroke Cricket Club will host three Cup finals tomorrow as the women's senior, junior and minor cup finals are be contested in just one day.
The day kicks off at 10.30 when unbeaten Railway Union take on North Kildare seconds. The last time these two teams met Railway won by six wickets. Central to the team's success in that game, and indeed in all of their games, were Tanya MacArthur and Carol Mackenzie, Carol scoring 70 not out to win the match.
North Kildare will look to Anna Kerrison, Aine O'Connor, Anne O'Meara and Mickaela Bursey, but mainstay Naomi Scott-Hayward is ineligible to play in the final as she has played too many games for the North Kildare firsts - she will be a big loss to the team.
Meanwhile, Clontarf seconds will attempt to get past Rush seconds to win the Junior Cup. Fiona Manning will look to continue her recent form -her tonne instrumental in the Tarf's semi-final win. Fourteen-year-old Una Raymond is also one to watch.
Rush will rely on the both youth and experience, Anne Harford bringing her wealth of knowledge to the table while Emma Ryan and Emma Conway are the young up-and-comers.
In the last game of the day Merrion will attempt to retain the senior cup, while a strong Pembroke outfit will do their utmost to keep the trophy at their home ground.
Both sides are missing players, Nikki Symmons unable to play for Pembroke due to her international hockey commitments, Isobel Joyce unavailable for Merrion due to work commitments and Julie Van der Flier out for Merrion with injury.
The 'Broke's strength lies in their bowling - captain Ciara O'Brien, Kim Garth, Shauna Kavanagh, Louise McCarthy and Sharon Corbett making up a formidable attack.
Merrion's strength conversely lies in their batting, Jill Whelan and Cecelia Joyce each hitting centuries in the past two weeks. Emma Beamish has been unavailable for much of the season, but has not scored below 30 all year and Blaithnaid Breslin has impressed since her return from a year in Spain. Jill Whelan and Elena Tice are the team's biggest threat with the ball.
Pembroke are also running a number of fundraising initiatives in aid of Action Breast Cancer and those playing and supporting are encouraged to wear pink. Hats and tshirts will be available to buy on the day, and an auction will be held as well.
