Cricket Leinster is pleased to announce that Emad Uddin of Phoenix CC has been confirmed as the winner of the Cullen Cup (leading wicket-keeper) for the IBI Corporate Finance Tillain Cup for 2020.
Uddin’s 5 catches and 5 stumpings in his 7 appearances helped him see off his nearest challengers, who, just like in the Senior League Cup, were the wicket-keepers for the two finalists. Usman Ishaq of Knockharley had 9 dismissals, while Merrion’s John O’Hara claimed 7 victims.
Uddin’s consistency was what gave him the edge in this particular battle, across his 7 appearances he took dismissals in 6 of them, including taking three on two occasions, once against Civil Service, the other against Adamstown.
Another notable point here in Uddin’s success is how well he linked up with in particular Conor Cooney, taking two catches and four stumpings off the bowling of the 16-year-old left-arm chinaman, with every one of the stumpings happening in Phoenix. Perhaps a warning shot to batsmen not to leave their ground where these two are involved in years to come!
Congratulations from all at Cricket Leinster to Emad on winning the Cullen Cup for 2020.
