Finally the sun shone, and cricket was played. And as one of the photos shows, cricket in late April is never the most staright forward!
David Gray of Sandyford submitted this photo of John Fanagan and his trophy. "This is an annual match played between Sandyford CC and St Columba’s (Whitechurch). It is called after John Fanagan who was a teacher in the School for many years and looked after this game. We were honoured that he umpired the match, which Sandyford won by forty runs, man of the match was Vishnu Mohananu."
Gareth Delany sent in a great series of shots celebrating Lucan's first match in Cricket Leinster competitions. It was a great start to the season, with Lucan scraping home by one wicket
And finally to a picture demonstrating the problems that come with playing matches in the back end of April.
There is to be plenty of new development at Bird Avenue this season, with new changing facilites making a big difference to the venue. However, the scene as captured by Hadley Southall presents a few problems.
Next week sees our final entries to the April section of our search for Cricket Leinster Photo of the Year.
We will be announcing the monthly winner, so get your entries in to photos@cricketleinster.ie
