It's easy to fall into a cricketing stereotype, blathering on about the end of the world, impending doom, apocolyptic weekends - or the current weather as it's also known.
I know it's always there; that there is nothing we can do about it; and that this is north west Europe in March, so what do we think the weather should be? But it's cold, has been snowing all day in this neck of the woods - and the season was supposed to start in eleven days.
What else am I supposed to talk about!!!
Anyway, let us stray from meterological matters, and concentrate on things photographic instead. Being the last week in March, we will today name the best Cricket Leinster Photo of the Month, which will be then be competing for the final prize at the annual dinner in the autumn.
Three more photos to set before the public today - only one of which was taken in 2013!
It would be a shame not to give pride of place to the first photo. Taken after the great Anglesea Road flood of 2011, Kade Beasley sent this photo in, and according to Angus Fleming on Facebook, Merrion nearly experienced the same fate last week.
Next, a shot from last summer. Civil Service's youth structure has been experiencing a renaissance over the last couple of years, and they will starting their 150th anniversary year with plenty of optimism.
Finally, a shot that has never been seen before. Whilst St Patrick is habitually seen at the Skerries Parade, never before has the Bob Kerr Irish Senior Cup been in attendance. So after The Hills' 2012 exploits, St Patrick's year was made.
And more cause for celebration, as this photo, sent in by Michael Gavin is the Cricket Leinster March Photo of the Month (all the more so as it was taken in 2013!)
So on to April, where hopefully we will have some photos of some 2013 cricket action, and not snowmen on white outfields! Get those photos in to photos@cricketleinster.ie, or through Facebook and Twitter
