All the waiting was worthwhile! Finally the 2013 season has started, and with it the chance for some hardy photographers to get outside and treat us to their efforts.
Two photos below from that category, but first an apology to Paul O'Hara. He sent in this photo of a nervous looking Tallaght IT team a fortnight ago, and it has been lying in the vaults ever since.
Paul, the coach of IT Tallaght CC explains that the shot shows some of the IT Tallaght side feeling the tension of a close indoor run chase against UCD at Kilnamanagh last December. It is the club's first season and members include Ireland's Louise McCarthy and Laura Delany.
The photo shows Shane Sheil, Josh, Doyle Cunningham, Marcus Wade (obscured), Mark Kilroy (CSCC) and the skipper, Jamie Stackpoole (Sandyford).
Steve Livsey of Civil Service sent in this shot of Halverstown after their friendly last Sunday.
Steve says, "First game of season today, friendly between Halverstown and Civil Service. Not many blue skies but great to be back playing!". I'm sure it was absolutely freezing, but to be honest, looks quite nice!
Deryck Vincent has become one of the top cricket photographers in the country, and after one weekend of the season, has produced this shot of Adam Craig charging in during Clontarf's friendly against Phoenix last week.
The stakes are already high, so grab your camera, and get snapping this weekend. Send photos to photos@cricketleinster.ie
