Power Hitting Workshops – North County CC – 7th to 9th November 2015As we know, cricket has changed a lot over the last few years, especially with the advent of T20, which has a big emphasis on clearing the ropes and high strike rates. Therefore, Cricket Ireland are keen to offer all cricket coaches within Ireland, a chance to observe some Power Hitting Workshops run by Julian Wood (www.cricket-power-hitting-system.co.uk). This event is open to all coaches at all levels and registrations will be taken on a first-come-first-served basis. DetailsVenue: North County Cricket Club, The Inch, Balrothery, Co. Dublin. More details at www.northcountycricketclub.net/aboutus.php Dates: 7th, 8th and 9th November 2015Times: 12pm – 230pm (Session 1) and 330pm – 6pm (Session 2)Cost: Free for Cricket Ireland Coaches Association (CICA) members and £3 / €5 for non-membersRegistration: Direct to Michael Hingston by email to michael.hingston@cricketireland.ie or by phone to +353 (0) 85 877 4028 These sessions are free for CICA members to attend (£3/€5 for non-members) and the idea is that you will be observing and listening to all that’s going on ‘on the floor’ of North County whilst the Cricket Ireland Performance Coaches will be helping out with the players. These sessions will hopefully give you some ideas to take away to work with your own players on different drills, exercises and coaching points. Players from different Cricket Ireland environments will be taking part in the sessions and you will be there as observers and listeners throughout. There are six sessions taking place over the weekend, with different ranges of players taking part, therefore think about what environment you currently coach in and which one is most applicable to you i.e. if you coach children mostly, then maybe attending a senior men’s session might not be the most applicable, as Julian will be tailoring each session to suit the participants. We’re also organising a session for coaches to take part in, for the 12pm – 230pm one on Sunday. If you could put down two session options for yourself e.g. put a ‘1’ beside your first option and a ‘2’ beside your second option, just in case your first option is fully subscribed. Also try and pick two sessions on different days, as some sessions might prove more popular.Numbers attending each session are limited to 12 coaches, therefore as mentioned above, registrations will be taken on a first-come-first-served basis. Here are the session details and if you can add your two options beside each one as appropriate (an example is given in red below):Saturday 7th November (Cricket Ireland Academy)Early session: 12pm – 230pm 1Late session: 330pm – 6pmSunday 8th November (Coaches session [early] and Cricket Ireland Senior Women [late])Early session: 12pm – 230pmLate session: 330pm – 6pm 2Monday 9th November (Cricket Ireland Senior Men)Early session: 12pm – 230pmLate session: 330pm – 6pmTo register your place, please reply to this email with your options above to michael.hingston@cricketireland.ie or by phone to +353 (0) 85 877 4028 by return.
