NEAR 90.3fm today broadcast the draw for the quarter finals of the RSA LEinster Senior Cup. It's a cliche to say draws throw up interesting ties, but hey - why not?
Last year's two relegated Division 1 sides, Phoenix and Pembroke will square off. Pembroke have had a sensational start to the season, and will fancy their chances. Phoenix though are unbeaten in Leinster, and will also be quietly confident.
This year's surprise package, Old Belvedere will host cup specialists Clontarf. Clontarf have had a very up and doen season, and their visits to Cabra in the last few years have been few and far between. The Old Belvederians will fancy springing a surprise.
The other Division 2 side, and conquerors of North County, Malahide have got a home fixture, with Railway Union making a first visit to the new international ground.
Finally an all Division 1 tie, with highly fancied YMCA taking on the only unbeaten Division 1 side The Hills. With a home draw, YMCA will already have one eye on the Claremont Road final. The Hills will not be a pushover, and this has the makings of the tie of the round.
