The new service on the Cricket Leinster website, ‘Get Into Cricket’ is due to go live shortly. This is part of an initiative, supported by RSA, to increase participation in club cricket in Ireland. It provides an easy way for anyone interested in taking up the sport to find and contact their local club. The message ‘Get Into Cricket’ will be included as part of local and national media campaigns, again supported by RSA.
In order for your club to avail of the new service you need to update certain details on the Cricket Leinster website. It is a straight forward process and should not take more than a few minutes.
Using the access codes for administrative access provided to all clubs [used for registering players, updating starring etc.] the responsible person in the club should go to ‘Club Administration’ and ensure that the following information is accurate and up to date:
Location You need to locate the club on a satellite map [this can all be done through the website]
Edit Make sure that the information you provide in relation to your club [About the Club] and for new members [New Member Info] is suitable for someone from the public looking to join your club.
There are four main services identified. These are displayed on the ‘Get Into Cricket’ webpage to give a quick view of what the club has to offer anyone interestd. These relate to Open/Men, Womens, Youth, Social/Taverners cricket. There is also a box to be ticked if you are offering Cricket Camps during the summer.
Make sure that the email address for the club is filled in. This is the address to which enquiries through the website will be sent. Once an enquiry is made it is up to the club to follow up.
The new service does not cost anything and it is hoped is something that can be used by clubs to support membership drives and other activities where contact with the public is key in the future.
Finally, any clubs who want to advertise the availability of cricket summer camps should provide details as soon as possible.
