Just short of 50 team and individual awards were given out at the Annual Awards Dinner at Old Belvedere Rugby Club on Friday 12th October. Over 160 people attended the dinner.

Fair Play Awards
The Clarissa Pilkington Fair Play Award honours a women who was the grand dame of Women’s Cricket in Ireland for many years as player and administrator and the first woman to be admitted to the Leinster hall of fame.
Citation: This award has been presented for the last three years but had it been in existence since the resurrection of women’s cricket in Leinster in the 1970’s then this year’s winner could have won it many times. She has in fact won performance related awards in each of the decades since then. She has always plays the game with the ‘play hard but play fair’ ethic and has been an inspiring role model for many younger players in her club
Winner: Ann Harford [Rush]
The John Dawson Fair Play Award honours a man many present will remember for his many years in which he was Honorary Secretary of the Leinster Cricket Union.
Citation: This year’s winner came to Ireland initially to play as a professional player. He liked it here and has stayed now for eighteen years. He has now played close to 300 matches, scoring over 8,000 runs and taking 500 wickets. Having qualified to play for Ireland, he was capped eleven times. Through all his performances he has been recognized as someone who always plays the game in the proper spirit. This has now been recognized with nominations from several clubs.
Winner: Naseer Shaukat [The Hills]
Hall of Fame
Citation: As a schoolboy, student and working adult he played for three Leinster clubs from the mid 60’s to the mid 90’s. He could claim to be the most successful club cricketer in Leinster, having been a member of seventeen Leinster cup or league and one Irish Senior Cup winning teams . He took just under 1,000 wickets in Leinster cricket. He played many inter-provincials for North Leinster. He got close to 100 caps for Ireland, 25 as captain and took close to 200 wickets. He was also an Irish selector and was active as a coach at schools level through Wesley, plus He was captain of the last Trinity team to win the league but is mainly remembered for his performances for the Phoenix club.
