Ringcommons Cricket Club was formed just two years ago and has come on tremendously.
A new venture for them was to start a youth section within the club and with the help of Reinhardt Strydom (Fingal Development Officer) “Coaching for Children" a one day camp was held on Wednesday the August 21st.
The coaching got off to a good start as 40 children from the local area turned up for a morning of fun and lots of good cricket activities coached by Reinhardt and his assistant Barry McCarthy. Ringcommons Cricket Club now has plans to arrange cricket for children on a weekly basis next summer.
With many local schools in the area now playing cricket in the schoolyard this will be great news for children in the area to have a club nearby to join. The goal will be for the club to be able to enter some youth teams into the Leinster leagues next year.
Thanks to Fingal County Council and Cricket Leinster for all their support in getting this new club off the ground. Also thanks to Sean and Rob White for all the work they are doing for Ringcommons CC and the organising of the cricket camp.
