In D7 Laois II and Sandyford are way out in front [though a number of Laois II results appear to have gone AWOL] and the title [and promotion] looks like being between them. North Kildare II are a long way back and with only a few matches to play it is probably too late to mount a challenge. At the other end of the table Pembroke IV with only 8% seems destined for D8 next year. YMCA IV seems the next most likely to be relegated but Wexford and Bagenalstown [each of whom has wins yet to be recorded] are still in the danger zone. Pembroke IV v YMCA IV today is probably the latter’s last chance of survival.
Balbriggan is another of those divisions where it is all over bar the final confirmation. Balbriggan II have not lost a game all season and at the start of the weekend had 94.35% after nine games. Another full point victory yesterday will consolidate their position further. North County IV, their nearest rival, are 30% points behind [though they too added a win yesterday]. Leinster IV’s outside chance of getting up to challenge North County [there are a couple of games played but with no scorecards] suffered a setback in losing to Balbriggan. It is much more intense at the other end of the table with four [and possibly even five] teams in the frame. Wicklow currently lie in last place with two matches remaining. Dublin University have no more scheduled matches - and their 34% puts them just above the drop zone. Knockharley II and Clontarf IV can easily end up above this mark but don’t have much of a margin to work with so anyone losing a string of games could find themselves below the students.
D9 is a battle between Swords and The Hills III. They are way out in front with 80% plus in terms of points [and another full point win yesterday]. Malahide IV are in third spot - but too far back to mount a challenge. Greystones II have yet to record a win and look certain to go down. Who will accompany them remains to be decided - Dundalk and Carlow and perhaps even Civil Service II will have to battle it out.
D10 is another league where there is a clear leader. There a lot of matches played for which scorecards are yet to be submitted / updated [sone for rained off games that won’t have any bearing on race] but Railway IV still have a comfortable lead [and another big win yesterday]. But Railway still have matches to play as do Slieve Bloom who are chasing hard and have a win to be updated on table. At the bottom of the table YMCA V are without a win but a lot of matches still to play. The second team in trouble is Leinster V.
