There is a full round [21 matches] of RSA Open Competition League matches scheduled for today from D3 to D14 plus a number of youth and Womens games.
There are three key matches each in OC D3 and D4 and we will be watching these closely during the day. The pick of the games is probably the top of the table clash in D3 between leaders Merrion II and second placed Clontarf II. North County II and YMCA II [next two places] are also in opposition.
In D4 leaders Laois take on bottom placed Mullingar while second placed Railway II should have a tougher challenge from Phoenix II.
In D13 Leinster VII will be trying to close the gap on leaders Ring Commons whose victory yesterday [even with only eight games played] rises to 6/8 with no losses. This may well be the league that is called first this year. In this they may well be pushed hard by Greystones in D12 who are well out in front and also haven’t lost a league game all season. They are not in action this weekend but Wexford II are chasing them and will need to keep up the pressure with a win against bottom placed Dundalk II.
The other teams leading their leagues without a loss this season are Clontarf IV [D8], Sandyford II [D10] and Knockharley II [D11]. Will any of these teams make it through the whole season without a single defeat.
