Cricket Leinster are pleased to announce the appointment of Naomi Scott-Hayward as their ‘Cricket in the Community’ development officer for the South Dublin County Council area.
Naomi, a member of the North Kildare Cricket Club, will be responsible for further promoting the game in South Dublin while also supporting Adamstown, Clondalkin and Lucan cricket clubs with their development efforts. A big part of her new role will be cricket development within primary schools in the South Dublin area. This will involve the continuation of schoolyard coaching sessions and further education/up-skilling programmes being offered to school teachers. At this time of year, the preparation of schools for blitzs and Leprechaun Cup competitions will be an important part of the schools’ development programme. A further role for her will be delivering cricket activities for all abilities. Table Cricket and adaptive cricket has been very popular across different groups in the area to date such as St. Michael's House, Go For Life, St. John of God's, St. Joseph's Special School and Cheeverstown.
Naomi will continue co-ordinating Cricket Leinster's activities for girls youth squads. This includes winter training sessions and assisting, when available, with the Easter and Summer activities planned across the U11 - U17 age groups. She will remain in her role as Chairperson and PRO of the Leinster Coaches Association as well as Secretary of Cricket Leinster Youth & Schools committee and Youth Sub-committee.
Kenny Carroll will assist Naomi in her efforts along with working on other participation initiatives planned to be rolled out around the South Dublin area in the coming months.
Cricket Leinster are most grateful to South Dublin County Council and The Lords Taverners for their continued support that enables us to appoint staff into these important positions.
