St Andrews College 90/8 in 20 overs (G Beatty 30, T O’Brien 1-6, V Scollard 1-16, E Ericson 1-26, C O’Connor 3-25, C Emmett 1-12)
Skerries win by 22 runs
St Andrews won the toss and decided to field in chilly and blustery conditions in Park Avenue.
Opener Tara O’Brien made an excellent 35 (retired) and was ably backed up by Aimee Scollard (18), Caoimhe Emmett (10) and Vanessa Scollard (12) as they set a competitive total of 112.
Best of the bowling for St Andrews College was Georgia Beatty (2-11) with Emma Hanna also taking 2 wickets for 32 runs.
In reply St Andrews had to face a well organised and disciplined bowling and fielding team and found runs hard to come by at every stage. Georgia Beatty top scored with 30 runs but regular wickets meant that the target was always too far away.
Best of the Bowling was C O’Connor with 3 wickets and all the bowlers had some success.
Player of the Match Georgia Beatty
In the end the run rate was just too high and Skerries were deserved winners of the 2024 Junior Girls title.
