At a sparsely attended Spring General Meeting the revised Rules of the LCU were approved [these are now up on the Cricket Leinster website]. The main changes in these Rules are to set up a Grounds Committee and to authorise the Executive to apply to the Revenue Commissioners for ‘Tax Relief for Donations to Certain Sports Bodies’ status for a sporting associations under Section 235 of the Taxes Consolidation Act, 1997.
At the meeting the audited accounts of the LCU for the financial year 2011 were presented and adopted. The accounts show a €3,000 surplus on the year from an income of just short of €150,000.
