The Third Division was blighted by poor weather with only half of the games being played. Pembroke 2 conquered all before them, winning all the games they played and finishing with a percentage of 90. Clontarf 2 came in second, losing only to the league winners with Rush 2 coming in third. North Kildare 2 beat Leinster 3 for fourth place with the Rathmines side coming in fifth.
Despite winning the league outright, no Pembroke bowler finished inside the top five wicket-takers – a sign of their strength in depth, perhaps. Rush claim both first and second spots with Ellie McGee leading the charge taking seven wickets at 8.29 and best figures of 2-8. Her teammate Lauren Wilde is just behind with six wickets at 3.17 – the best average in the league – and best figures of 3-1.
Clontarf take the next three spots with Lauren Maxwell taking 5 at 5.2, Cecily McGeer with 4 at an average of 5 and her daughter, Megan taking fifth spot with the same number of wickets but a higher average of 15.
They may not feature in the top five in the bowling averages but Pembroke dominate the top of the run-scorer’s chart. The Sandymount club’s Eimear Mullen topped the run-scoring charts despite only playing two matches. She made 73 runs across the two innings, 53* her highest score. Her average of 73 was by far the highest in the league. Her teammates Gayle Bowen, 58 runs at 29, and Pippa Guy, 58 at 14.5, were second and third respectively. Eileen Foley from Rush was the sole non-Pembroke player to claim a spot in the top five, her 56 runs coming in four innings at an average of 18.67. Pembroke’s Mhairi Nicoll came in fifth with 53 runs in just two innings; she averaged 26.5.
