Pembroke lost to Merrion by 42 runs at Sydney Parade
Merrion benefited from the availability of their International players as they posted 172-4 dominated by an 80-run opening partnership between Rebecca Stokell (44) & Leah Paul (77). Polly Ingris (24) then combined with Paul to add a further 72.
Best of the bowlers for Pembroke was Hannah Little who took 2-31 from her 4 overs including the wicket of Leah Paul.
Pembroke started strongly in reply with openers Louise Little (77) and Mary Waldron combining very effectively to the extent that when Waldron was dismissed for 44, Pembroke had reached 96 off the first 13 overs. The remaining 7 overs then produced just 34 runs as excellent Merrion bowling restricted scoring opportunities.
Síbha Bhoja took 2-14 whilst the experienced Celeste Raack & Rachel Delaney shared 6 overs for just 35 runs including the key wickets of Mary Waldron and Clare Shillington.
The Hills lost to Malahide by 8 wkts at The Vineyard
Malahide restricted the home side to 110-4 off their 20 overs despite a fast start being provided by overseas professional Mary-Anne Musonda who scored 26 off just 13 balls before being dismissed by Sarah Condron.
The only other significant contribution for The Hills came from fellow opener Aimee Maguire who carried her bat for an unbeaten 45 off 59 balls. Tight Malahide bowling and fielding made runs and momentum hard to come by - best of the bowlers being Emma McMurray (2-25 off 4), Sarah Condron (1-21 including the key wicket of Musonda) whilst Arlene Kelly & Saibh Mitchell also bowled very economic spells.
Malahide made short work of the chase reaching their target of 113 for the loss of just 2 wickets (both to Aimee Maguire) in just 13.2 overs. The chase was dominated by Irish Internationals, Amy Hunter and Arlene Kelly. Hunter scored 53 off just 39 balls with Kelly unbeaten on 35*.
Aimee Maguire finished with 2-24 in a good all-round contribution for her team.
Overall a relatively facile win for Malahide at The Vineyard.
Clontarf beat YMCA by 54 runs at Castle Avenue
Clontarf posted an imposing 180-5 off their 20 overs which was dominated by a brilliant 123 opening partnership between Robyn Searle (90, including 13 X 4s) and Christina Coulter-Reilly who made 55 off just 40 balls and included 6 fours). YM used seven bowlers across the 20 overs.
The YM reply never really threatened despite a steady start from Sarah Forbes (29) and Siúin Woods (21). It was a fine all round bowling display from Clontarf with Sinead Thomson taking 2-11 off her 4 overs and Alice Walsh (2-33) including the key wicket of Gaby Lewis without scoring.
An important win for Clontarf on home turf.
